PROGRAMS A. Storytime sessions resumed this month with large groups in attendance (average of 35). B. The bulk loan was delivered to the schools 10/5 C. The classes from ICS visited during the week of 10/9 D.“Yoga for All Ages” was presented 10/16 as part of Teen Read Week. COLLECTION A. Collection development for the J600's was completed B. Materials to update J600's section were ordered. C. Several large orders for juvenile materials were placed through Baker and Taylor. D. New books on compact disc arrived and were added to the collection E. Graphic novels were ordered to update the collection and an oversized graphic novel section was created. F. New shelf labels were created and installed for juvenile non-fiction and easy non-fiction. III. PROJECTS A. Preparations are underway for National Children's Book Week, November 13-19. B. Marsha and Dana are scheduled to participate in an ESL family night sponsored by District 13 on November 6. C. A Manga artist will be teaching a workshop for up to 20 students on November 7 and 14 from 4-5 pm. D. Marsha has been asked to present an "Importance of Early Reading" program to three Child Guidance classes at CHHS on November 17 E. Staff is busy preparing year-end budget expenditures. IV. STAFF A. New pages Betsy Bush, Stacey Hendren, and Tracy Shaffer completed training on 10/12. B. A new page schedule was negotiated 10/17. C. Library Aide Cristy Tombarge aided the Children's Librarian in reorganizing magazine and newspaper storage areas. D. Library Clerk Kelly Olson sent and received numerous material orders after cleaning Baker and Taylor existing records.
