I.PROGRAMS
A. The bulk loan was delivered to the schools on November 2.
B. The classes from ICS visited during the week of November 13.
C. Children's Librarian, Marsha Tubbs provided three Columbia Heights High School Child Guidance classes with a program on
the importance of reading to infants and preschoolers on November 17. Students completed evaluations and copies will be
made available to the Director.
D. Keiko Miyamoto provided two workshop sessions on the Art of Manga.
E. Fall storytime sessions ended on November 14. Plans are underway for two Holiday storytimes to be held December 5.

II. COLLECTION
A. Weeding has begun in the Juvenile and YA paperback areas.
B. An order was placed for language CD's from Teach Me Tapes. Funds to come from the donation account.
C. A final order for program supplies was placed.
D. An order was placed for a set of phonics DVD's.
E. Donated materials were checked against the catalog and added to the collection. Approximately 200 unique titles were
forwarded to ACL for cataloging.
F. Final books orders have been prepared and are ready to send.
III. MEETINGS
A. Children's Librarian, Marsha Tubbs, is scheduled to participate in an Early Literacy Workshop sponsored by MELSA on
December 12.
B. Marsha and Dana conducted the Library Board meeting on November 1, in the absence of the Director. Dana Weigman,
library's new Adult Reference Services Librarian, was introduced at this meeting.
C. Marsha and Dana participated in District 13 Family Nights on November 6 and 14. ESL families registered for library cards
and participated in drawings for bilingual materials.
IV. STAFF
A. Pages completed shelf labels, checked donated materials against the catalog, aided in preparations for storytime and
programs, and began weeding of paperbacks.
B. Library Aide, Cristy Tombarge, checked book orders, aided in the preparation of the 2007 budget PowerPoint presentation,
established a new book display, and created three bulletin boards for the building.
C. Library Clerk, Kelly Olson placed and received several book orders, created a Spanish Language user guide to the library,
and began promotional materials for winter reading program "Hot Reads for Cold Nights".
