Friends of the Library: The Friends of the Library met for a luncheon meeting at the Dragon th House restaurant on Monday, November 7 at 11:00 a.m. Betty Robbins reported on her meeting with Becky about fund raising ideas and special projects. The Friends decided to learn more about the Library Foundation and what it does. After the meeting several members came to the library to put up a knitting display in the east room showcase and to decorate the box for Project Bookshelf. Nancy Rathbun will take the donated books to SACA. B. Homebound Program: Sandi Engquist delivered books to two “At Home Service” patrons. I had one phone inquiry about our “At Home Service” program. II. COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT: A. Most of the books on compact discs I’ve ordered have been received. There are still a few on back order. III. PROEJCTS & GOALS: A. Tax forms: I placed the annual order for Minnesota state tax forms. B. Fidelity Cleaners: We still do not have a permanent cleaner. The substitute who has been cleaning the library for the past several months is doing an adequate job. A walk thru was conducted by Fidelity on Tuesday, November 29. C. Volunteers: Volunteers donated 15 ½ hours through the “Adopt-a-shelf” program and by delivering books to “At Home” patrons. D. Book displays: I added numerous books to the COH new book display, and they are circulating very well. The display panel in the lobby of the library is set up with new non-fiction books. E. Supply budget: The amount available in each line item until the end of the year was calculated and transfers requested as needed. F. Supply ordering: The end of the year general and office supply orders were placed. G. Routine tasks: I updated patron records when overdue and request notices were returned by the post office. H. Seasonal plan: My section of the seasonal plan was updated. IV. MISCELLANEOUS A. Prepared weekly task calendar. B. Prepared copy for the December Sampler. C. Posted copy of New York Times Best Seller list. D. Addressed library newsletter to City and ACL staff. E. Posted signs for Veterans’ Day and Thanksgiving holiday closings. F. Supervised staff while Becky was out of the office, 11/9, 11/10, and 11/18. G. Set up Integrated Waste Xmas display. MMK/jms
