COLLECTION A. Staff completed the donated books project. With the help of Supervisor, Dana Weigman all materials donated to the library were evaluated and categorized for inclusion as unique titles into the collection. I estimate we will be adding several hundred unique titles to the catalog. B. The final children’s book order for 2005 has been submitted. It was a push to get caught up from the down time of earlier this year but we managed to get all purchases placed. C. Children’s Clerk, Kelly Olson has spent 4 to 6 hours each week on data clean up with the serials. Kelly anticipates this project will continue into 2006. III. PROJECTS A. Children’s Department staff aided in the prepared publicity materials for the Columbia Heights Public Library Foundation fundraiser scheduled for December 18. B. At the request of Anoka County Library, Children’s Librarian, Marsha Tubbs and Kelly Olson designed and produced new signage, posters, bookmarks and screen image to accompany the new PC management product coming in January. IV. MEETINGS A. Marsha Tubbs attended two PC management meetings at Anoka County. As a part of the first meeting on November 1, Marsha was given the task of developing a new image for the ACL computer services. Designs were presented at the second meeting on November 17 and accepted by the group. V. STAFF A. Children’s Clerk, Kelly Olson spent time on database clean up, invoicing, and statistical compilations. Stats and files are now up to date through October minus the reports we are waiting on from Anoka County. Kelly placed and received several large book orders and processed some end of the year PO’s to close out the Children’s Department accounts. B. Library Aide, Cristy Tombarge has been filling in with delivery tasks to allow Adult Clerk, Jeanine Schmidt time to catch up on attaching books to catalog records. She aided Kelly Olson in the invoicing project and receiving books. Cristy also changed displays within the department. We are now featuring holiday books and realistic fiction. C. Pages have been busy checking selection tools and managed to complete three months of backlog in a little over four weeks. Great job! They also helped Dana Weigman with the donation project
