REPORTS
STAFF
Salsbury stated that the skating and hockey rinks were in very bad
shape because of the warm weather.
JOHN SETTLEMIRE
Mr. Settlemire, caretaker at Murzyn Hall, attended the meeting to ask
the Board to reconsider their present rules regarding alcohol, He
stated that 45% of the renters hire outside bartenders and the rest
have their family or friends take care of the bar. He felt that
family or friends are not always in condition to handle the bar. He
felt that the Board should require licensed bartenders to work the
bar and maybe have a list of bartenders available for the renters to
pick from.
After much discussion several of the Board Members stated they did
not want to get into the liquor business. Salsbury stated that he
would look into the options available and get back to the members at
the next meeting. Hollom suggested that Salsbury check with the City
Attorney and see at what point we could implement such a plan.
Board member Fowler had several questions. Who makes the profit from
the candy machine at Murzyn Hall? TheYouth Drop In Center. Who
makes the profit from the candy machine at City Hall. The profit from
all candy machines is given to the city to cover Christmas party and
any special events. Who buys the pool balls? The pool balls are
bought by the city.
