OLD BUSINESS BALLFIELD Salsbury reported to the 'Board Members the latest information regarding the ballfields. Tri City has decided to take their money to the City of St Anthony and.build'a ballfield. The Boosters donated $3,000 to help pay for the pollution clean up. There are plenty of hockey rinks in Columbia Heights, although there is a problem with the #5 ballfield. Hollom suggested that we write a letter to the City Council requesting that they authorize the additional dollars in order to remove the dirt. COLUMBIA HEIGHTS PARK BOARD MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 26, 1988 PAGE THREE TOURNAMENT POLICY The Board Members reviewed the guidelines of the Tournament P61icy. They did not feel that the Policy should be changed at this time, therefore, the request for the ballfields from the Goodwill Industries, Inc. Easter Seal Society of Minnesota has been denied on the basis of no action to change the policy. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN Salsbury informed the members that the best figure that we can give them, until a more defined proposal is prepared, is $75,000 for a comprehensive plan for the parks. Salsbury suggested that. there should be a comprehensive plan and that the Board. should request that $75,000 be put in the 1990 budget for this purpose. REPORTS Schlagel: Why can't we have a crew work at night to do the work on the hockey rinks? Salsbury: We do, they start at 2 a.m. Fowler: What is our policy on block wails downstairs, can we put up anything in the youth room? Salsbury: Yes, we can as long as it 9oes with the decor. Kennedy: Sullivan Park needs some pathway repair - is it in the budget? It appears that we may be too late in certain areas for maintenance. Salsbury: Yes, we need an overlay in paths - which is in next years budget. The overlay in Prestemon and LaBel]e were in the budget for this year. You are right, we are a year to two years late. The item was cut from the 1989 budget, and we may have more expense because of this action. Some of the pathway appears to need reconstruct ion. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Sch]agel, second by Fowler to adjourn. All ayes, motion carried. ~-a~y French-7, 'park Secretary
