COMPREHENSIVE PARK PLANNING Salsbury discussed the fact that there was considerable discussion during the Huset Park Ballfield tribulation about the "city not following it's comprehensive plan for parks". He pointed out that we do not have a comprehensive plan. After some discussion, it was decided that the Park Board would approach the City Council following the ballfield problem to consider funding a Comprehensive Park Plan. The Board would volunteer to hold public meetings and oversee the development of the plan. The proposal would be no later than next spring so that if the funds are not available in 1989, they could be allocated in the 1990 budget. Salsbury is to see if he can get a handle on the approximate Cost for a consultant to prepare a plan with the necessary gathering of information meetings~ etc. , COLUMBIA HEIGHTS PARK BOARD MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 5, t988 PAGE THREE ADJOURNMENT Motion by Fowler, seconded by Schlage] to adjourn.
