OLD BUSINESS
STORAGE AREA FOR YOUTH HOCKEY EQUIPMENT
Hollom read a letter that he had received from Mark Blinkman, Columbia
H6ights Hockey Association Equipment Manager, concerning the~storage of
the hockey equipment. Salsbury stated that he had informed the Assoc.
that the~equipment presently being stored in the Prestemon Building was
not secure and that it should be moved before the skating season starts
on December 23rd. Salsbury also pointed out to the Board that several
Organizations are requesting storage space at the hall and there isn't
room available. The equipment room that is being used by the R~creation
Department is full and cannot accomodate the needs of the Association.
The equipment would not be secure in the Edgemore room as the cabinets
do not have locks. After much discussion, Petkoff made a motion that
the downstairs coat room be used as a temporary space until a'permanent
room can be provided or until the skating season is over and the Prestemon
Building can be used. The motion was qualified with the stipulation that
the decision to use the coatroom be discussed with-the Senior Coordinator
before taking any action. All ayes, motion carried.
EXERCISE CLASS IN JOHN P. MURZYN HALL
Barbara Sandberg informed the Board members that she had a meeting with
Gail Maus, Assistant Community Education, and that a compromise had been
reached regarding the Monday morning scheduling of the exercise classes
in the hall.
DAMAGE TO HALL FLOOR
Salsbury stated that he was concerned that the floor in the main hall
might not last the year because of the damage already done. The hall has
been rented every weekend for the next year, therefore~nothing can be done
in the year 1988. Hollom suggested that Petkoff inform the City Council
about the condition of the floor. Motion by Petkoff, seconded by Murzyn to
block off the month of January 1989 and not accept any reservations for the
hall until a decision can be made.
REQUEST BY CAKES AND CATERING EXCEPTIONALE
A letter from Robert Bocwinski, City Manager informing Cakes and Catering
Exceptionale that the City Council and Park Board are not interested in
pursuing exclusive service contracts for caterers at Murzyn Hall. This was
for information only.
NEW BUSINESS
None
Hollom thanked the members for their work for the past year.
