All ayes, motion carried. PAYMENT OF THE BILLS Motion by Petkoff, seconded by Starcevic that the bills be paid out of the proper funds. All ayes, motion'carried. REQUEST HALL & KITCHEN/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS WOMEN OF TODAY Motion by Fowler, seconded by Petkoff to allow the Columbia Heights Women of Today the use of the kitchen on Sunday, November-29, 1987 from 12:00 noon thru 6 p.m with the fee being waived. All ayes, motion carried. REQUEST USE OF HALL/1988 GRADUATION PARTY COMMITTEE Motion by Petkoff, seconded by Fowler to allow, the 1988 graduating class of Columbia Heights the use.of dohn P. Murzyn Hall for the annual alt nite party on June 6th, 7th and 8th, 1988 with the exception of events a]ready~ scheduled on June 6th~ and, furthermore, that the 'Fee be waived. Ail ayes, motion carried. REQUEST LA BELLE LOUNGE AND KITCHEN/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS TENNIS TEAM Motion by Fowler, seconded by Petkoff to allow the Columbia Heights Tennis Team the use of the LaBel]e Lounge and kitchen on Tuesday, November l:0th from 6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the fee.being waived. All ayes, motion carried. REQUEST HALL/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS WOMEN OF TODAY Motion by Petkoff, seconded by Fowler to allow the Columbia Heights Women of Today the use of the main hall, LaBelle Lounge and kitchen on December 8th and 9th, 1987 for their annua] children's Christmas party with the fee being waived. 'This was for information only. REQUEST HALL & KITCHEN/CUB SCOUT PACK 52-ST. TIMOTHY'S CHURCH Motion by Petkoff, seconded by Fowler to. allow Cub Scout Pack #52 the use of the hall and kitchen for their Blue & Gold Banuqet on Tuesday, February 23, 1988 with the fee being waived. All ayes, motion carried. OLD BUSINESS REQUEST DRINKING FOUNTAIN LA BELLE PARK An estimate of cost for the installation of a drinking fountain at LaBelle Park was handed out to the members. The COSt of materials plus labor came to approximately. S4,399.00. After discussion, the members decided to include the request in the ]989 budget. It was requested that a letter be sent to Ms. Marilyn McCallum informing her. JOHN P. MURZYN SIGN John Murzyn informed the members, that the Lion's Club of Columbia Heights agreed to fund the balance of the outside signs for the hall. NEW BUSINESS REQUEST TO RESTRICT BOAT ACTIVITY ON SILVER LAKE The Police Department received a call from a St. Anthony resident Raymond Haik, 2901 Silver Lake expressing concern over the use of power boats during high water levels. Although the boat ramp is in our community, Salsbury was not sure what authority Columbia Heights has regulating the use of the boats. Salsbury stated he would contact the City Attorney to research the request and provide the necessary information. SALES TAX ON SECURITY GUARDS Due to changes in the tax laws, we are now required to pay a sales tax of 6% on security guard services at the hall. Salsbury stated that the $12.00 an hour charged to the rentor was still a satisfactory amount and at this time he did not feel the rate should be changed. REPORTS COMMUNITY EDUCATION & RECREATION REPORT~ Fowler reported that he had received a call from Dick Lawrence to report that the Drop In Center would be opening on Thursday nights the second or third week in November.
