ROLL CALL
Members present:

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Bill Hotlom at 6;30 p.m.
READING OF THE MINUTES
Motion by Murzyn, seconded by Fowler to approve the minutes of the July
23, 1986 meeting'as given in writing. All ayes, motion carried.
PAYMENT OF THE BILLS
Motion by Jernall, seconded by Starcevic that the bills be paid out of the
proper funds. All ayes, motion carried.
REQUEST MEETING ROOM/CHRISTOPHER TOASTMASTERS CLUB-STEVE SMITH
Mr. Steve Smith attended the meeting on behalf of the Christopher Toast-
masters Club requesting a meeting room at the hat1. He also furnished a
roster of the club. Motion by Petkoff, seconded by Jerna11 to reserve a
meeting room weekly from 6 p.m. ~o 8 p.m. with the fee being waived. All
ayes, motion carried.
HOCKEY BACKERS REQUEST RUMMAGE.SALE/OSTRANDER PARK BUILDING
At the July meeting a request for rummage sale at Ostrander Park was approved
by the members.' The Columbia Heights Hockey Backers have now requested an
additional day for their rummage sale. Motion by Petko~f, seconded by Jernall
to amend the motion to include the 12th of September. All ayes, motion carried.
REQUEST ROOM J.P.M. HALL/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS HYLANDERS 4-H CLUB-SAND. RA. HARTSE
Motion by Petkoff, seconded by Fowler to reserve a room for the 40th Birthday
of the Columbia Heights Hytander's 4-H Club. The request is for Monday,
October 13, 1986 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. They also request kitchen privilages.
Staff is to check on need for kitchen. AI'I ayes, motion carried. There will be
no fee for this event.
REQUEST BAND SHELTER/DUANE ESTREM
A request for the use Of the Band Shelter at Huset Park for a Pep-Rally for
Gary Peterson on Sunday, September 7th, ]986 has been received. It was also
requested theft we furnish approximately 20 picnic tables for this event. After
some discussion a motion by JArnall, seconded by Fowler to approve the use of the
Band Shelter at Huset Park with the stipulation that any time or material
needed to fulfill the request will be charged. All ayes, motion carried.

REQUEST MEETING ROOMS/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS HOCKEY ASSOC./LINDA PROFANT
Motion by Starcevic, seconded by Fowler to grant permission to the Columbia
Heights Hockey Association to hold a Coaching/Manager's meeting on September
17, 1986 from 7 p.m. to 10:.30 p.m. and a Parents meeting on October 5, 1986
from 7 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with the fee6eing.waived. All ayes, motion carried.
It was stipulated in the motion that both meetings will have to be held in the
lower level of John P. Murzyn Hall. All fees will be waived.
THANK YOU LETTER/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR ALL NIGHT PARTY
A thank you letter was read and noted from the parents of the Senior Class
Graduation Committee of 1986.
REQUEST HUSET PARK FIELD #3/IMMACULATE~CONCEPTION'SOCCER TEAM/RANDY SCHNEIDER
Motion by Jernall, seconded by Fowler to approve the use of Huset Park Field
#3 for soccer practices from Monday thru Friday from 3:15 until 5: p.m.
The field request will begin on the 3rd of September and conclude the end of
October. All ayes, motion carried.

The following recommendations were made by the Park Board to the Captal
Improvement Plan.
Keyes - Bury electric lines hockey lites. .Recommendat'ion: Drop request.
Prestemon - Drain low area. Recommendation: Build up area Reorient ballfield. Recommendation: Keep in plan.
Additional lighting in skating area. Recommendation: Keep in plan.
Install lights in basketball court. Recommendation: Request neighbor's
opinion.
Overlay paths. Recommendation: Drop from plan.
Correct roof, seal, change lighting. Recommendation: Keep in plan.
Install pathway lights. Recommendation: Keep in plan.
Construct wading pool. Recommendation: Keep in plan.
Silver Lake - Beach Parking lot, overlay. Recommendation: Keep in p'lan. Repairs beach house. Recommendation: Keep in plan.
McKenna - Erosion control east bank. Recommendation: Keep in plan.
Bury electric lines, hockey. Recommendation: Drop from plan.
Construct path, Overlay paths, LaBelle, Prestemon & Sullivan.
Recommendation: Drop from plan.
Ostrander - Bury electric~i lines, hockey lights. Recommendation: Drop from plan
Rebuild or move hockey. Recommendation: Look at moving.
Replace free skating light. Recommendation: Keep in plan.

The budget material was reviewed. Hollom requested the items under #1520 be'
prioritized by Board, This would be for the members use only.

The management plan prepared by Salsbury was reviewed by the Board members.
Salsbury requested any input the Park Board members might have.
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
Motion by Starcevic, seconded by Jernall to-cast a white ballot for Bill Hollom
as'Chairperson of the Park Board. All ayes, motion carried."
