MINUTES
JULY 23, 1986

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Bill Hollom at ¢;30 p.m.
READING OF THE MINUTES
Motion by Murzyn, seconded by Fowler to approve the minutes of the June 25, 198(~
and the July 17, 1986 as given in writing. Ali ayes, motion carried.
PAYMENT OF THE BILLS
Motion by Murzyn, seconded by Fowler that the bills be paid out of the proper
funds. At1 ayes, motion carried.
REQUEST FOR USE OF HALL/EDDIE PIEKERCZYK
Mr. Pi~kerczyk requested the Board members to consider his request to hold a
dance at John P. Murzyn. Hall to help the poor. After listening to his request
the Board recommended Mr.. Piekerczyk contact an organization to assist him in
his request. The Board felt that he needed a large group to help make it a
Success .
REQUEST JPM MAIN HALL BY V.F.W. 'POST' #230
Motion by Murzyn, seconded by 'Fowler to reserve the main hall, LaBelle Lounge and
kitchen for the Columbia Heights V.F.W. Post #230 on May 1, ]987 for the
installation of their officers. The fee will be waived for this event, however,
the security fee will remain in effect. All ayes, motion carried.
REQUEST MEETING ROOM BY COLUMBtA HEIGHTS ATHLETI. C BOOSTERS
Motion by Fowler, seconded by Starcevic to re'serve a~meeting room for the
Columbia Heights Athletic Boosters on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6:30 p.m.
to 8:30 p.m. with the fee being waived. All ayes, motion carried.
REQUEST MEETING ROOM BY NORTHERN VOICES #t85 OF TOASTMASTERS INTERNATIONAL
Motion by Fowler, seconded by Murzyn to deny the request for a meeting room at
this time based on the fact that the membership is not predominately Columbia
Heights residents. All ayes, motion carried.

REQUEST FOR USE OF MURZYN HALL BY COLUMBIA HEIGHTS HOCKEY BACKERS
Motion by Murzyn, seconded by Fowler to reserve the main hall, kitchen and LaBel le
Lounge for the Columbia Heights Hockey Backers spaghetti dinner on September
17, 1986 with the fee waived. 'All ayes, mot'~on carried
Motion by Fowler, seconded by Murzyn to reserve the Ostrander Warming House for a
rummage sale on September 9th, 10th, and llth with the fee being waived. All ayes,
motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
LA BELLE PARK PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
Salsbury stated that there was $5,000 in the budget for playground equipment at
LaBelle Park. The Board members requested. Salsbury to purchase two (2) Backhoe
Diggers and the balance tn a wooden structure. This they felt would blend in
with the natural setting of the area.
DATE OF ANNUAL REVIEW OF PARKS
The Board members set the date Thursday, August 21, 1987 for the annual review
of the parks.

JOHN P. MURZYN HALL
Salsbury stated that the final inspection was planned for the next week. He also
stated that they would be bringing in a cleaning crew at that time. There is still
a drainage problem, but hopefully with drain tile the problem will be alleviated.

Motion by Starcevic, seconded by Fowler to adjourn. All ayes, motion carried.
