Ail ayes, motion carried. LIQUOR PERMITS Motion by Murzyn, seconded by Jernall, that the liquor permits be granted according to the rules and regulations set forth by the Park Board to: Alice Miskiewicz, 2642 Quincy St., Mpls,, MN; Mrs. Howard Seim, 1425 Molan Terrace, Col. Hgts., MN; Karin ~lood, 82 - 7th Ave., Mpls., MN; Scott Linder, 3847 Polk St., Col. Hgts, MN; Mrs Carl Newquist, 3150 Hayes Street, Mpls., MN; Barbara Doherty, 10671 Fillmore St., Blaine, MN; Cotlette Klucas, 4541 Heights Drive, Col. Hgts., MN; Ellen Shreder, 3535 12th Ave., Co,, Mpls., MN. AIl ayes, motion carried. REQUEST JEFFERSON BLDG/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS LION'S CLUB Mr. Robert King (representing Lions Club) was in attendance to answer any questions the members might have regarding their.request for the use. of the Jefferson Park Building for a Beer Garden during the Jamboree Days, Motion by Jernall, seconded by Petkoff to allow the Columbia Heights Lions Club the use of the Park Bldg. providing all City and County requirements are met for a Beer Garden during the Jamboree Days. All ayes~ motion carried. REQUEST HALL/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS FIRE AUXILIARY Motion by Jernall, seconded by Murzyn to reserve the hall for the Columbia Heights Firefighter's Auxiliary for their Christmas Party on Sunday, Dec. 1, 1985 from noon to 6 p.m. With the fee being waived. All ayes, motion carried. CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS PARK BOARD MINUTES FEBRUARY 13, 1985 PAGE 2 REQUEST HALL/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS JAYCEES Motion by Jernall., seconded by Petkoff to. reserve the hall for Friday, March 29th from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m, for the Columbia Heights Jaycees 'District Social with the fee being waived. The security fee will remain intact, however. All ayes, motion carried. REQUEST HALL/NANCY JOHNSON - CHILDRENS CANCER RESEARCH FUND AT U, OF MN. A letter requesting th~ hall for'a benefit dance with proceeds going to the Cancer research fund was read. Motion by Petkoff, seconded by Murzyn to rent the hall at I/2 charge, with the security fee intact, for March 8th 1985. It was also requested that an acounting and a copy of the receipt be given to us for our information. All ayes, motion carried. REQUEST HALL/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS JAYCEE WOMEN- EASTER PARTY A letter requesting the use of the hall for a Children's Easter Party was read. Motion by Jernall, seconded by Fowler to reserve the hall for the Jaycee Women on Tuesday, March 19th from noon to ll:OO p.m. All ayes, motion carried. OLD BUSINESS JOHN P. MURZYN HALL PROJECT The members reviewed the letters from Ron Kalina, city Attorney, and Fred Salsbury to Mr. Watten. Salsbury stated he had not received a response to either letter. Hollom requested Salsbury to ask Mr. Watten if a May 1st date is a realistic date for completion of the hall. PARK PLANNER The members requested Salsbury to check with the University for a Park Planner to work for the summer. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN The Capital Improvement plan was reviewed giving the members an idea of the dollars being planned for the next 5 years. A couple of extra items were suggested by the members - wading pool ih S.E. corner of the City~ regulation size swimming..pool, revamping ballfield at Prestemon Park, and a water slide or some use of the hill at Gauvitte Park. NEW BUSINESS SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT Motion by Fowler, seconded by Murzyn to restrict any softball tournament play from Prestemon Park and to allow play only at Huset Park with over- flow at Keyes Park. Jernall requested an amendment to remove the word overflow from the motion. Ayes, Fowler, Murzyn, Jernall. Nay, Petkoff. Motion, as amended, passed by majority. CiTY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS PARK BOARD MINUTES FEBRUARY t3, 1985 PAGE 3 REPORTS Ice rinks are in good shape and we will continue to have them open as long as the weather stays cold. The Park Buildings have been re-keyed and all padlocks have been changed. The engine that was bid on for the water wagon cannot be provided so there will be a delay. The hall rentals for 1986 have been postponed until more definite dates can be given. The financial report for the hall wi. ll be available at the next meeting, A list of improvements to be made on all City owned property is in the process of being made, RECREATION COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE Nothing to report ~ ADJOURNI~,ENT Motion by dernall, seconded by Fowler to adjourn.
