Satsbury, Director Public Works/City Engineer Also present: Mitch DeMars, Park & Street Superintendent Members absent:~ Rita Petkoff The purpose of the meeting was to provide information for future expansion of John P. Murzyn Hall and location for the lighting system presently located at hockey rink at Wargo Park. The park planning literature received from Mr. George W. Watson, Brauer & Associates Ltd., Inc. was also discussed. JOHN P. MURZYN HALL iMPROVEMENTS Remodeling of basement and addition: 1) Remove bowling lanes 2) Take out trophy cases 3) Centralize storage area and make larger. 4) Either wood floor or carpeting on top of cement floor 5) Kitchen and dining room for Senior Citizens 6) Craft room 7) Game room 8) Gut basement and than decide what area is to be divided into rooms. 9) Heat ing-Ai~ Conditioning 10) Addition of approximately 4,200 sq. ft. or 50 x 75 feet, plus full basement. Continue the same look or appearance of the outside of building. Everyone agreed to the above proposals in order to get a projected cost to give to the City Council. WARGO COURT PARK HOCKEY LIGHTS The lights at the hockey rink at Wargo Court Park must be removed within the next couple of months. Some suggestions were submitted: l) Tennis courts 2) Basketball courts 3) I~ockey rink at Mathaire Park 4) Parking lots Jerna]] requested another month before making a decision as to where to move the lights, she will review use of facilities with Recreation Commission. PARK PLANNING The following service options and costs were received from Brauer and Assoc. l) Prepare a master plan for one park - $2,000 2) Prepare a master plan for three parks - $5,000 SPECIAL PARK BOARD MEETING FEBRUARY 29, 1984 3) Prepare a master plan for six parks - $9,000.00 · 4) .Prepare a park system for entire City $18,000.00 After much discussion it was decided to accept the #2 plan. At the next meetingit will be decided on which 3 Parks will be designated for planning.
