Salsbury, Director of Public Works/City Engineer Also presnet: Hitch DeMars, Street & Park Superintendent READING OF THE MINUTES Motion by Jernall, seconded by Fowler that the reading of the minutes 'from the October 19, 1983 meeting be'dispensed with and accepted as written. All ayes, motion carried. PAYMENT OF THE BILLS otion by J~natl, seconded by Petkoff that the bills be paid out of the proper funds. All ayes, motion carried. OLD BUSINESS SILVER LAKE BEACH& BOAT LANDING Hollom stated that the letter being sent to the residents in the area covers the situation and when we receive their response it will guide us as to what decisions should be made. NEW BUSINESS Fowler asked if there have been requests from the citizens regarding where to dump leaves. Sa]sbury stated that the problem is a big concern for the City also and that there isn't any land available to dispose of leaves. LIQUOR PERMITS Motion by Jarnall,seconded by Fowler that the liquor permits be 9ranted according to the rules and regulations set forth by the Park Board to: Dennis Trach, 4053 Van Buren St., Co]. Hgts., Archie Blake, 3615 Knox Ave. N. Mpls., Paulette Schermann, 601Northdale Blvd. Coon Rapids, Pat Ciesynski, 4257 - 5th St. Col. Hgts., Melissa Oosterreich, 7516 Aster Drive, Brooklyn Park, Lorraine Drowns, 1040 Hackman Circle, Fridley, Barbara Bowen 3506 - 6th St. Mpls., Judy Wang, 6901 Quail Ave., Brooklyn Center, John S. Cronan, 2710 N. Dale, No. #310, Rosevi]le All ayes, motion carried. REQUEST FOR USE OF JPM HALL - JIM KORDIAK Ho]lom stated that the original letter from Mr, Kordiak was for a fund raiser and the current request was for a political roast which is against Park Board policy to waive the fee. Fred suggested that he call Mr. Kordiak and inform him of our po]icy. Hollom stated that we would table the request until they hear from Salsbury. WOMEN Motion by Fowler, Seconded by Petkoff to allow the J.C. Women the use of J.P. Murzyn Hall on Friday, December 9, 1983 for a "Party with Santa", with rental fees being waived. All ayes, motion carried. REQUEST FOR USE OF JPM HALL - LIONS CLUB Motion by Petkoff, seconded by Hurzyn to allow the Lion's Club the use of J.P. Murzyn Hall on Friday, February 24, 1984 for a Valentine's Day Dance with rental fees being waived. Security guard fees will remain intact for this event. All ayes, motion carried. It was suggested by Hollom that we write a letter to the Lion's Club informing them that they have been given the use of JP..M.urzyn Hall on two different occasions in 1984. The Park Board policy is to allow Civic Organizations (2) fee waived week-end rentals per year, therefore, if they wish to use the Hall another week-end in 1984 it will require a rental fee. RESIGNATION JO-ANN JERNALL TO COMMUNITY EDUCATION ADVISORY COUNCIL Jernall stated that she has resigned as representative to the Advisory Council. Hollom thanked her for being the representative from the Park Board. John Starcevic has agreed to be the new representative .to the Council. PARK BOARD REPRESENTATIVE TO RECREATION COMMISSION Jernall had nothing to report. DEPARTMENT REPORT DeMars reported that the Jaycee/s would like permission to sell beer at J.P. Murzyn Hal~l. A discussion was held and the final decision was made that we do not want to change our policy regarding the selling of beer. Ho motion was made. All agreed. DeMars reported that he had called K.C. Hall in Fridley regarding their policy for the loss of dishes and silverware. They stated that they charge any catering service .10¢ a plate oN serving. A discussion followed regarding the different ways we could charge. Fred said the problem was that we don't deal with the caters we deal with the people who rent the hall. De,tars said he would call a few more halls to get more of any idea how others handle their loss of dishes and silver ware. No action was taken. Fred stated that we are presently taking applications for warming houses for the skating season. Petkoff mentioned that it m~ght be possible to put an add in the paper. Hollom also suggested advertising on cable. ADJOUTNMENT: Motion by Jernall, seconded by Fowler to adjourn.
