ROLL CALL: Members Present: .William Hollom, doAnn Melin, John Murzyn, Jim Fowler, John Starcevic, Thomas Rejzer. Members Absent: Walter Logacz Also Present: Fredrick Salsbury, Public Works Director; George Brown, City Engineer. SULLIVAN LAKE DEVELOPMENT Salsbury explained in detail the specifics of the bids received on July 8th. Five bids were presented with the low base bid being submitted by Minnesota Valley Landscaping at the price of $482,168.t0. The bids received were all higher than the Engineering estimate. (Refer to attachment) Motion by Melin, seconded by Fowler that the following recommendation be presented to the City Council: RECOMMENDATION: To accept the base bid of Minnesota Vat]ey Landscap- ing as given--S482,168.10, with the difference between the base bid and the budget being covered by monies from the Sullivan Lake Fund. ALTERNATE #]: To a~ccept the base bid of Minnesota Valley Land- scaping but including the following deducts: (a) south shore pathway (b) storm headwatl (c) concrete oiling. This would reduce the project price to $402,997.20. ALTERNATE #2: To accept the base bid of Minnesota Valley Landscaping but to include the deducts as noted in the Public Works Recommendation. Project price--S408,789.45. ALTERNATE #3: If additions could be made to Alternate #1, or Alternate #2, the following is a priority list of those additions. 1. Complete arbor $20,430.00 2. Pathway--N.E. loop 13,237.25 3. Storm headwall 27,211.40 Tennis court lighting 7,000.00 COLUMBIA HEIGHTS PARK BOARD SPECIAL MEETING JULY 10, 1981 Page 2 All ayes, motion carried.
