READING OF THE MINUTES
Motion by Murzyn, seconded by Fowler that the reading of the minutes
be dispensed with and accepted as written. Alt ayes, motion carried.
PAYMENT OF THE BILLS
Motion by Fowler, seconded by Logacz that the bills be paid out of
the proper funds. All ayes, motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
LAWCON/LCMR FUNDtNG - SULLIVAN LAKE PARK
Rejzer explained to Board that the Park Department will be getting
both the Federal and State funding. The State money is up front, and
the Federal money will be reimbursed upon encumbering project expendi-
tures. The City has receiYed the contracts for ~both funding sources
and we are now awaiting the approval of the City Attorney and the
signatures of the Mayor and City Manager.

This item was tabled since the Board has no response'as, of yet from
City Attorney Kalina on legal matters concerning some signs.
HALL RENTAL FEES
Discussion was held on the rates charged by other local rental halls
and on the subject of corkage fees. Other establishments charge this
fee, yet we do not. Rejzer will bring back a cost breakdown for the
hall to 'the next meeting.
NEW.BUSINESS
1982 LAWCON/LCMR FUNDING APPLICATION
Melin introduced the subject of Huset Park redevelopment as it concerns
the addition of another lighted softball field:and a new lighted soccer
field. Rejzer explained the funding program as it was explained to
him at a meeting with State officials. He also explained that Federal
money will:probably not be available next year.

Murzyn then brought up the fact that we do not need another softball
field. Melin pointed out that the Board had already put the motion
through to include a softball field on the application. Motion was
made by Fowler, seconded by Logacz to put in the application for
funding. All ayes, motion carried.
REMODELING OF JOHN P. MURZYN HALL RESTROOMS
Rejzer presented the options for the remodeling to the Board. Motion
was made by Murzyn, seconded by Logacz to get bids on the Women's
restroom, with alternate to also get bids on Men's restroom. All
ayes, motion carried.
Rejzer informed the Board that there will be maximum capacity signs
posted in the hall as follows: HALL - 375; PORCH - 100.
LETTERS & REQUESTS
LIQUOR PERMITS
Motion by Logacz, seconded by Fowler that requests for liquor permits
be granted in accordance with rules and regulations. AIl ayes, motion
carried. Permits granted to the following: Dona]d Bartko, 5048 Monroe
Street N.E.; Columbia Heights'; Beth Stament, 4717 Winnetka, New Hope.
REQUEST FOR JPM HALL - COLUMBIA HEIGHTS LIONS CLUB
Rejzer will write a letter to the Lions Club explaining that JPM Hall
is not available on a regular basis for a Bingo Night as requested
in their letter.
REQUEST FOR JPM HALL - COLUMBIA HEIGHTS JAYCEES
Rejzer will inform them that the hall is being used that day and it
would not be possible for them to hold their membership drive there.
REQUEST FOR JPM HALL - COLUMBIA HEIGHTS HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
Rejzer will write a letter to the Hockey Association explaining to
them that their request for the four (4) days in which to hold a
rummage sale will not be available. There are other events scheduled
in the hall and/or porch on all the days they requested.
REQUEST FOR TOURNAMENT - SCREEN PRINTING
Motion by Fowler, seconded by Logacz to grant Screen Printing use of
the fie]ds requested on June 13 & 14, 1981, for a softball tournament.
All ayes, motion carried.

Discussion was then held regarding reducing the number of tournaments
allowed 'For next year, and to also consider raising the fees for use
of the'fields.
Rejzer and satsbury discussed the situation concerning the Moore On
University tournament, being shifted from May 1, 2 & 3, 1981, to
May 29, 130 & 31, 1981.
THANK YOtJ LETTER - NORTHEAST YMCA
Letter was noted and put into f~ile.
REQUEST FOR FIELDS - NORTHEAST YMCA
Motion made by Murzyn, seconded'by Fowler to grant permission to
Northeast YMCA use of one (1 field for their Church softball league.
Decision of which field will be left up to them. All ayes, motion
carried.
REQUEST FOR FIELDS - COLUMBIA HEIGHTS K-MART
Motion by Murzyn, seconded by Fowler to grant K-Mart use of Huset
field #3 for their s0ftba]] 9ames. Games are held every Sunday night
at 7:00 p.m., beginning May 3, 1981, running through August 22, 1981.
All ayes, motion carried.
REQUEST FOR TOURNAMENT - ARROWFAST PRINTING
Motion by Fowler, seconded by Logacz to grant Arrowfast Printing
permission to hold a softball tournament on July 24, 25 & 26, 1981,
on Huset fields #3, #4 & #5. All ayes, motion carried.
CONFIRMATION ON REQUEST FOR FIELDS - WOMENS FASTPITCH SOFTBALL
Rejzer will write a letter confirming the motion made and passed
to grant use of field #3 at Huset park to the Womens Fastpitch
Softball team.
REQUEST FOR JPM HALL - COLUMBIA HEIGHTS LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS
Motion by Murzyn, seconded by Fowler to grant permission to the
League of Women Voters use of dPM Hall on June 9, 1981, from 9 a.m.,
until 3 p.m. Fee will be waived for this event. All ayes, motion carried.
REQUEST FOR dPM HALL - COON RAPIDS LIONS~LIONESS CLUB
Motion by Fowler, seconded by Murzyn to deny this request for use
of the hall. All ayes, motion carried.. Rejzer will write letter
explaining reason for denial.

APPLICATIONS FOR SUMMER EMPLOYMENT
Rejzer explained that six summer employment positions will be available
and that so far there are tw61ve applicants,
PROGRESS FOR SULLIVAN LAKE PARK
Discussion was held that there may have to be a special meeting
regarding Sullivan Lake. At this meeting the plans would be reviewed.
Rejzer is hoping to have a set of final plans at this meeting, at
which time, action may be taken on them.
SCHEDULE OF USE OF BALLFIELDS
Rejzer told Board that he has the scheduling boards set up. He will
bring a copy of the schedules to the next meeting.
MEETING WITH COLUMBIA HEIGHTS JAYCEES
Rejzer has bet with the Jaycees regarding proposed projects for this
summer. Included among the projects will be LaBelle Park clean up
days, playground maintenance and various landscaping projects. The
Jaycees will get back in touch with Rejzer to confirm their
commitments.

Motion by Fowler, seconded by Logacz to adjourn. All ayes, motion
carried.
