READING OF THE MINUTES
Motion by Logacz, seconded by Melin that the reading of the minutes be
dispensed with and accepted as written. Atl ayes, motion carried.
PAYMENT OF THE BILLS
Motion by Melin, seconded by L°gacz that the bills be paid out of the
proper funds. All ayes, motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
QUOTATIONS FOR HUSET HOCKEY RINK LIGHTING
Award of bid put through at COuncil Meeting of October 14, 1980. Award
made to Total Electric for installation and construction, total price at
$4,700.00. Award made to Northland Electric for luminaires and mounting
adaptors, total price $3,949.80. Work to be done this season.
CONGREGATE DINING
Rejzer will call Col. Martin t° discuss further.
Mayor Nawrocki is writing a letter to the Seniors expressing that he would
like to see an activity like this held at Columbia Junior High School, but
that the Park Board will be discussing for solution.
REVIEW OF WYANE'S PROTECTION
Meeting to be held on Friday, October 17, 1980, to discuss any complaints
or problems. Meeting involves Rejzer, Melin, Police Chief Stu Anderson,
Salsbury and Wayne Fisher.
NEW BUSINESS
HOCKEY RINKS AT COLUMBIA AND CENTRAL JR. HIGHS
Neither Junior High is to have a hockey program this year.
Physical Education classes will be using the rinks.
Possibly only
John Murzyn to represent Park Board along with Fred Salsbury, Bob Bocwinski,
and Tom Rejzer to discuss the verbal maintenance agreement with the School
Board.

LIQUOR PERMITS
Motion by Me'lin, Seconded by Murzyn that requests for liquor permits
be granted in accordance with rules and regulations. All ayes, motion carried.

Motion made by Murzyn, seconded by Melin to allow the Hylander 4-H Club
use of the hall:on the dates requested. All ayes, motion carried.
REQUEST FOR J.P.M. HALL - COLUMBIA HEIGHTS GIRL SCOUTS
Motion made by Melin, seconded by Murzyn to allow the Columbia Heights
Girl Scouts use of the hall on January 3, 1981, for their annual Father
and Daughter Square Dance. Fee will be waived. All ayes, motion carried.

ESTIMATE FROM SEARS & ROEBUCK ON DRAPES FOR HALL
Murzyn Received an estimate from Sears on new drapes for J.P.Murzyn Hall
to be purchased by VFW Post #230 for the price of $1,330.00.
Motion made by Murzyn, seconded by Melin to accept the purchase of the
drapes for the hall by VFW Post #230. All ayes, motion carried. VFW
should then be given recognition for their service to the community.
PARKING LOT LIGHTS - HUSET PARK
NSP has been contacted regarding this by Salsbury.

Murzyn also recommended that a standard light be put by stairway outside
of hall. Lack of light, and irregularity of stairs presents hazards. There
is wiring present underground by bandshell and is readily available for
hook-ups. Rejzer will check on this.
REPORTS
PRESTEMON PARK PARKING LOT
Work is done, there is a pathway going from street to building. We will
possibly have to change a curb in the area to provide for a vehicle entrance
for upcoming rink assembly, park maintenance, etc. Rejzer is also going
to put some trees in park area.
MATHAIRE HOCKEY RINK
Fencing should have been put up today, (October 15). Rejzer is going to
plant some Spruce trees around west end for sound barrier and will also be
taking out Poplar trees and putting in other species of trees.
HOCKEY RINKS PAINTED
All hockey rinks painted as of 10/15/80, except Mathaire, pending completion.
PRESTEMON AND SOUTHWEST BUILDINGS PAINTED
Prestemon: Painted wood trim and top of building.
Southwest: Painted trim, etc., same as Prestemon. Plastic discs on top of
dome are cracked and smashed by vandals. Rejzer will look into replacement.

TREE PLANTING
The planting has now begun.
Various amouints of Evergreens will be planted in parks.
