Members Absent: Michael Farrell and Gordon Schelde. READING OF THE MINUTES Motion by Heintz, seconded by Melin to approve the minutes of May 18, 1977 meeting as presented in writing and that the reading be dispensed with. All ayes motion carried. PAYMENT OF BILLS Motion by Heintz, seconded by Hollom ~to pay all bills as presented in writing from their proper funds. All ayes motion carried. GAUVITTE PARK Discussion of land at Gauvitte Perk was made, a motion by Hollom, seconded by Melin that the Park Board recommend to the Mayor and City Council to have the City Attorney negotiate with Mr. John Moneta for a land trade or acquisition for more parking area in constructing a building and that the City Attorney report back to the Park Board on th~on the final negotiation before' the Councils final action. All ayes motion carried. JAMBOREE DUNKING MACHINE . Motion by Melin, seconded by Ho~lom that Sebe Heintz be selected to sit on the dunking machine on Saturday, June 18, 1977 at 4:00 p.m. for the Columbia Heights Jamboree. All ayes motion carried. LIGHTING BIDS FOR LABELLE PARK PEASE I~ Motion by Hollom, seconded by Me!in to reject the lighting bids of Electric Service and that the bids be advertised at a later date. Ail ayes motion carried. LABELLE PARK PEASE'.Il LANDSCAPING Motion by Hollom, seconded by Melin that the Park Board recommend to the Mayor and City Council toward ~Eickman Brothers Landscaping the bid on landscaping at LaBelle Park in the amount of $'1.0, 450. 00. All ayes motion carried. SOUTHWEST PARK BUILDING Motion by Me!in, seconded by Hollom to reject all bids for the Southwest Park building and that the plans be advertised at a later date. All ayes motion carried. PICNIC TABLE BID Motion by Holtom, seconded by Me!in to accept the bid of Miracle-Jamison Recreation Equipment Co. for six (6) picnic tables in the amount of $1,134o00. Ail ayes motion carried. STEEL POLE BIDS Motion by Hollom, seconded by Melin to recommend to the Mayor and City Council to accept the bid of Ster~ing Electric for seven (7) steel light POles in th~ amount of $1,652.00. All ayes motion carried. GUAliD RAIL POSTS Motion by Melin:, seconded by Hollom to recommend to the Mayor and City Council to accept the bid of G.M. Stewart Lumber Co. for guard rail posts in the amount of $883.20. LIQUOR PEPd~ITS Notion by Heintz, seconded by Hollom that the Park Board grant the applications for liquor for the following reservations pending proper insurance: Terry Verding 1220 43~ Avenue N.E. on-November 12, 1977; Donald ~ode 6906 Perry Avenue North on August 5, 1977;~Mark Hickey 7920 ~and Avenue North on October 14, 1977; Donald Wistrom 5553 2%th Avenue South on June 3, 1978; Robert Mickelson 5326 St. Stephan Street on October 7, 1977;and Mark Fisher 2838 Brighton Avenue N.E. on September 30, 1977. Ail ayes motion carried. ~ BANDSTAND CARPETING Motion by Heintz, seconded by Melin that the Park Board recommend that John Nnrzyn send out informal bids for carpeting for the Nandstand. ~ A~I ayes motion carried. LETTERS AND REQUESTS Thank you letter from the Columbia Heights League of Women Voters for the use of the Field House for their June 7, 1977 luncheen was read and filed. Thank you letter ~ Clem Coverston for the co-operation by the Park Department for the athletic fields at the high schools was read and filed. A suggestion was made by JoAnn Melin to discuss "Nandalisms in the Parks" in the next City Newsletter. REPORTS Murzyn reported that the McKenna tennis courts have been colored. Murzyn reported that Hilltop and Prestemon Park Tot Lots are installed. MEMORIAL SITES Discussion of landscape ideas will be drawn up into plans for the memorial site at City ADJOURNMENT Motion by Melin, seconded by Hollom to adjourn. Ail ayes motion carried.
