Motion by Schelde, seconded by Melin to approve the minutes of the Nay 4, 1977 me~ting
as presented in writing and~that the reading be dispensed with. All ayes motion carried.
PAYMENT OF BILLS
Notion by Farrell, seconded by'Schelde to pay all bills as presented in writing from their
proper funds. All aye~motion carried.
BID TABULATIONS
Joh~Murzyn and Bob Owens discussed bids ~or construction of te~n~s courts, Bituminous
paving, curbing and miscellaneous work. Motion by Farrell, seconded by Melin to recommend
to the Mayor and City Council the low, responsible bidder, N.D.H. Inc. in the amount
of $135,573.90 of which $37,588.70w~s for park construction. Ail ayes motion carried.
SULLIVAN~LAKEPARK
The Board members discussed the responsibility of the Sullivan Lake Park area. Motion
by Hollom, seconded by Melin to suggest that Murzynwrite to the City Council concerning
their position on this project so that the Park Board can develop plans. All ayes
motion carried.
GAUVITTE PARK
Request by Mr. Schrodel for a berm, shield on light and question of~evelopment of
Gauvitte ParE. Murzyn to look into prices for a berm and light shield.
SOUTHWEST PARK BUILDING
Motion byMelin, seconded by Farrell to accept Murzyn~s recommendation of placing an ad
for bids for the construction of Southwest Park building. Ail ayes motion carried.
LABELLE PARK
Murzyn reported on bids awarded by Mayor and City Council for LaBelleRarkdredging and
park improvement. Desco Co. was awarded the bid for dredging at $18,650.00 and Metro
Engineering was the low bidder at $41,213.00. Motion by Farrell, seconded by Melin to
hirspart-time help for a run of 20hours a week, from 6:00p.m. to 10:00 p.m.~ Monday
theoughFri~day. Duties and responsibilities are maintenance and park security. Ail ayes
motion carried.

Motion by Schelde, see°ndedbyHollom that the Park B~ardgrant the applications for
liquor for the following reservations pending proper insurance: Lorna Pacquette 3558
2~Street N.E. on October 21, 1977; Donald Rode 6906 Perry Avenue North on December 3,
1977; James Durand 4749 4th Street N.E. on Nay 13, 1978; De~nNicholsen 5045 Clearview

Recommendation'bY Schelde that standard letter on the Boa~ds position on fencing
be sent to Mr. & Mrs. Joe Matykiewicz of 1332 45½ Avenue N.E.
Motion by Hollom, seconded by Farrell that the Park Board grant the use of Husei
Park fields to Mr. Ernie Nelson for a softball tournament on June 10, 11 & 12, 1977
requiring $50.00 for each field and a $50. O0 dep°S~t' for clean up of the fields and
area and that it be refunded pending the grounds~ar~ acceptable by the Park Superintendent.
To sell beer at the tournament, they must apply for a beer license from the City
Council and provide the City with proper liability insurance. All ayes motion carried.
Motien by Farrell, seconded by Hollom that the Park Board grant the use of Huset
Park fields to DicksPPlace for a softball tournament on July 9 & 10, 1977 requiring
$50.00 for each field and a $50.00 deposit for clean up of the fields and area and
that it be re£tmded pending the g~eunds are acceptable by the Park Superintendent.
If Dick's Plac~e wishes to sell beer at the tournament, they must apply for a beer
license from the City Council and provide the City with proper liability insurance.

JACKSON POND,
Tom Rejzer presented the plans ~oncerning the development at $3rd and Jackson Pond
area, The Board members discussed plans and recommended for Murzyn to fellow
through' with the development.
DUTCH ELM BROCHURE
~om Rejzer pr,~sented the Park Board members with a Dutch Elm Disease Brochure' to be
put into the omty ~l~.etion. Park Board members approved the brochure as part of
the City Shads Tree Disease Program.
PARK SIGNS
Motion by Hollom, seconded by Farrell to order two signs 6" thick for Prestemon and
Southwest Parks. The signs to be const~cted by Park Signs, North Branuh, Minnesota
at a price of' $243.00 per sign. All ayes motion carried.
STOP SIGN
Farrelt reported that the Southwest Park citizens request stop signs at the corner
of 39th Avenue and Main Street to make it a four way stop to the entres~uce to ~he
park. Motion by Farrell, seconded by Hollomtto recommend this request be preSanted
to the Traffic Commission. All ayes motion carried.
SOIL BORING.
Murzyn reported that soil borings were taken at Southwest Park.

Murzyn reported on both tennis courts at Nuset Park and Senior High SchOOl, and
that no complaints have been received. Rejzer reported on the mone~ collected from
the tennis cou~t lighting.
