READING 'OF MINIM!ES
Motion by Ho!lo~, seconded by Melin to approve the minutes of July 13, 1976 as presented
in writing and that the reading be dispensed with. All ayes motion carried°
PAYMENT OF BILIM~
Motion by Melin:, seconded by Hollom to pay. all bills as presented in writing and to be paid
from their proper funds. All ayes motion carried.
BUDGET
Discussion was held on the Prestemon Building proposed in the 1977 bUdget. It was suggested
that the Recreation Director give some input on the need for a bUilding at Prestemon Park.
LETTERS ANDREQUESTS
Motion by Melin:, seconded by Hollom to grant permission to the Columbia Heights Fire
Department to use the downstairs facilities of the Field House on September 11, 1976 for
a pig roast. ~[1 ayes motion carried.
Mo~on by Farrell, seconded by Melin that the Park Board invite a representative from the
Lions Club to ~scuss the 1977 Jamboree. A~ ayes motion carried.
Thank you letter from Dick Borchardt, Chairman of the 1976 All Night Party, was read and
filed.
Motion by Hollmn, seconded by Farrell that the Park Board grant permission to Mady's
Softball Team for the use of ballfields #3, 4, &5 and the use of the warming house at
Huset Park on ~gust 21 and 22, 1976. They were also granted a permit to sell beer
provided they ~ve the proper insurance along with the City Council to grant them a
license to sell beer. All ayes motion carried.
The copy of the letter from Dean Otterson dated on July 12, 1976 was read and discussed
it stated that no tennis courts or regtular softball field with backstop are wanted for
Phase II of LaSalle Park.
Motion by Farrell, seconded by Melin that a copy of the agendas and minutes of the Park
Board meetings be sent to the Planning and Zoning Commission. All ayes motion carried.,
LIQUOR PERMITS
Motion by Holl~n, seconded by Schelde that the Park Board grant permits to the following
reservations p~mding proper insurance: Cheryl Pearson on June 11, 1977 and to Mrs.
Stanley Hal~k on Friday October 15, 1976o All ayes motion carried.
BIKE TRAILS
Murzyn reported that a study is being made of bike trails in Columbia Heights. The
State Department will share 65% of the cost and the Park Board would have to pay for 35%
of the total cost. One of the members of HP~ is making the study and it will be presented
to the Park Board for their review and approval.
SULLIVAN LAKEPARK
Members of the Park Board requested that Murzyn investigate the sale of the church property
to th~ city for park purposes and to ~hat extent the property was to be used.
LABEELE PARK
Design of the structure for LaBelle Park was reviewed and discussed.
KEYES PARK BUILDING
Murzyn reported that the plumbing was reugh in and that the electrical piping
was to be installed before the forms to be constructed for the cement floor.

Motion by Hollom, seconded by Farrell to adjourn. All ayes motion carried.
