Members Present: John Rak' JoAnn Melin, Sebe Heintz, William Hollom, John ¥~rzyn. Members Absent: Mike Farrell and Gordon Schelde. Readin~ of th~ Minut~ ' Motion by Heintz seconded byMelin to approve the minutes of June 16, in writing and that the reading~of these minutes be dispensed with. carried. t976 as presented All ayes motion Motion by Hein'~z seconded by Melin to pay all bills as~presented in writng and to be paid from their proper funds° All ayes motion carried. N_~e~ Busine~ A discussion was held to discuss the policy on givingpermits for Softball or Base- ball di~onds for practices. No action was taken. Sebe Heintz suggested that the curb ~hen entering ~5th Avenue from McLeod Street by Keyes Park should be painted yellow for safety precaution. Cars parked there blind drivers when youngsters would try to cross the street at that point. Recommended that this would be mentioned to the Traffic Commission. L.~Belle Park ~otion by Heintz, seconded by Melin that the Park Board go on record listing the priorities for development of the Phase II Program in the order presented and if necessary that a change order from the State be requested. The following priorities are: 1. ~rt Structure for Central Plaza area. 2. Lights for pathways.~ 3. Pathways on the east side running towards 40th Avenue. 4. Sitting areas. 5. North play lot and finally 6. the dredging of ~the east side of the pond. All ayes motion carried. Mur~yn was instructed to ~itea letter to Mr. Malcom Watson, City Manager, with a carbon copy to Mr. Dean Otterson, on the action taken by the Park Board on their recommendations for LaBelle Park Developments to the City Council and it should Droceed posthaste. ~~rmits ~otion b~--~e~eHeintz, seconded by WiltiamHollom that the Park Board grant liquor permits to the follow,lng reservations: Mr. Steve~arson 100~ West County Road D for September 10, 1976. ~s. Bickford 3957 Polk Street N.E. for October 16, 1976 and Beth tnnNawrocki 1255 Polk Place for November 13, 1976. All ayes motion carried. ~~et for 197~ The Board Members received and discussed the proposed budget for the Park Department. The following were deleted from the preliminary proposal. 1. Building for Prestemon Park from $60,000 to $35,000. 2. Water W~.gon $16,00 3. Coloring of Tennis Courtsi$7,000. Two new items were added, $~500 for trees and shrubs for park areas and $3000 for a 72" Professional Mower. Li ht of Tennis Courts Mr. Pat Fischer from Wolverton Engineering was present to revieM preliminary plans for Tenni~ Court Lighting at Huset Park and the Senior High. The plans for Huset Park lighting was approved by ~the board with the exception that the Northern State Power Company Mill recommend where the power Mill be from 39th Avenue or from the Field House. There is a possiblity that there will be some extra cost involved. JoAnn Melin was to approach Dr. Osterndorf on the lighting at the Senior High and get approval from the School Board. A letter from the School Board should be sent to the Park Board of their recommendations. ~otion by Sebe Heintz secondeed by JoAhn Melin that the meeting bs~ adjourn. Ail ayes motion carried.
