October 28, 1975
Meeting called to order by Chairman John-Rak. ~--

Motion by Sebe Heintz, seconded by JoAnn Melin to approve the Minutes of the
October 15, 1975 Meeting of the Board as presented in writing, and that ~the
~readi.ng-of these minutes be dispensed with. .~11 ayes, motion carried.
Motion of Heintz, seconded by Melin to pay all bills 'presented out of their proper
funds. Ail ayes, motion carried.
DEVELoPEm
The-City of Columbia Heights is ptanB~g a $173, O00 Bond Issue to be used for
buildings and other park improvements. This amount is not for certain until the
city finalizes what ~l~location the Park Board w~11 receive.
After a lengthy discusSion the Park Board members determined that the priorities
for 1976 will be the lo,owing:
1. Nemorial Park Building
2. Completion of theBand Stand
3. Completion of Silver Lake Beach
4. Southwest Building

The Board requested-Superintendent of Parks~ John Murzyn to check the cost of
the play structure in the Minneapolis Wiudom Park.

The planting of shrubs and trees have been· completed by Dundee Nursery.
PARK ,SOFTBALL
Eurzyn reported that 3,500 yard~ of sod w~ 1 be needed to complete the
softball field at Prestemon Park.
.Mp. ~3~. NA BUILDING REPAIRS
The MoKenna roof repair is nearly completed with the exception of pitch and
gravel.
Murzyn reported that he met with Miss Hanson, Recreation Director ~nd her theatre
people to discuss what they wanted done at the Band Stand.
The following requests were made.
1.' 22~ outlets
2. Second floor above the dressing'rooms with openings for
sound and dimmer lights.
Microphone outlet~ from the ceiling.
Three (3) concrete tables and picnic benches were installed by Huset tennis
'courts and five (5) were installed in the old picnic area.
Motion by Hollom, seconded by Metin that ~. Michael Farrell b~ appointed
as representative to the Bicentennial Commission on the matter of tree
plantin. Ail ayes, motion carried.

members~ recommend the hiring of a-Supervisor for 'Warming, House Attendants.
