Members Present: Gordon Schelde, JoAnn Melin, William Hollom and Superintendent Parks, John ~zyn. · Members Absent: John Rak and Michael Farrell. R..ea~in~..of th~ Minutes Motion by Mei~ seconded by Schelde to approve_the minutes of the ~l~as~t~Board M~e_~et~i~ng as presented in writing and reading of these minutes ~$e dispensed with. ~J4t ayes, motion carried. Payment of Bi~s ~tion made by Heintz, seconded~by Melin to pay all bills presented out of their proper funds. Ail ayes, motion carried. ~view. ~f~ Pro;,~,s.e~ 1976 Bud~e_t Sebe Heintz mentioned' that there are four ways to receive mohey for our p~oposed budget, listed as follows: 1. Bond Issue 2. _Requ~[st for a capitol improvement Fund 3. Eefe~ endum from the' public 4. Do nothing ~e general consensus of the members were that they would like ~o proceed with their'im- provement programs. That the final decision will come from-the Mayor'and City Council on how much money we will receive and where the funding will come from. Public hearing will be held on September 25, 1975 and the outcome will be kno~u on what funding will be available. Le~ers and R_~equests A thank you letter from Mrs. Chelly Anderson regarding M.C.CoL. function at Huset Park ~s read and s~cknowledged. Motion by Gordon Schelde, seconded by Sebe Heintz .that' the Park Board allow the Columbia Heights Hockey Association the use of the Field House on November 7, 1975. All ayes, motion carried. The letter from ~. Gene Witucki was read:requesting' the Park Board employees take over m~intenance of Central Jr.. High~ hockey rink. The feeling 'of the Board was that there should be cooperation with the schools in this kind of manner. Mr. Hollom designated Gordon Schelde, John Murzyn and Rick Kudak to meet with Mr. Witucki and Dr. Ostendorf to find out w2~t cooperation we will receive in maintaining of Central Jr. High hockey rink. H._earir~_.on Tr e.e~s Motion by Schelde, seconded by Melin that an open'meeting :be listed in the next City News Letter for a hearing on trees located on city right aways. All ayes, motion carried. John Murzyn to write a letter to Mr~ Vernon Rozmark~stating that a root saw is ~budgeted for in the Public Works and invite Mr, Gustafson and Mr~ Rozmark to the next meeting to discuss tree ~nitation. Motion by Heintz, seconded by Melin that we allow the use of the Field House on December 2nd or 3rd, 1975 to the St. Anthony Golden Heirs Senior ~Citizens to have the Columbia Heights Senior Citizens their guests. All ayes, motion carried. Motion by Gordon Schelde, seconded by JoAnn Melin that we approve the liquor applica- tions for wed~ng receptions presented. All ayes, motion carried. The Park Board members reviewed and discussed the tabulated location for skating ~nd hockey rinks. Schelde made a motion that Sullivan Lake and Prestemon Park skating rinks be removed from the list, due to lack of participation.. After a discussion on the ~otion, the motion died from laCk of a second. --Continued - COLUMBIA HEIGHTS PARK BOARD MINUTES OF SEPT. 17, 1975 - Continued It was recommended that Mr. Dave MacGregor, Assistant Recreation Director be requested to attend our next meeting to discuss problems with scheduling of hockey games. _Instal~. ~a~%.o~ OX. Timer at Gauv~t~_e Par.~ The Park Board approved to ihsball a time clock o~ light pole at Gauvitte Park hill and setting the clock to 10 p.m. when lights will go off. Lands~capinE. Huset, O~.t. ran~e_~r and~Prestemon Parks Plans and ~ specmfications for Ostrander, Huset and Prestemon Park tree planting were reviewed and approved. The monies are in the Mayor's Landscaping Revenue Fund. Motion by Sebe Heintz, seconded by Gordon Schelde that the meeting be adjourned All ayes, motion carried.
