Motion made by William Hollom, seconded by JoAnn ~lin to approve the minutes of
January ~8, 1~5 as presented in ~riting and that the reaS~g b8 dispensed

JoAnn Melin questioned the line item !ndepartmental Labor~ and John ~rzyn explained
that our City Finance Director stated this to comply ~.~th State Codes and to sho~z what
~s charged against the park department by other departments of the city° Motion by
Michael Farre]~ to recommend to pay bills presented out of their proper fuuds, seconded
~-by ~l~iam Ho~om. All ayes, motion carried.
Liquor Committee
Ctmirman John Rak appointed ~ct~el Farrell and Gordon Schelde to represent the Park
Board on the Liquor~Cowm~-ttee.

Bob 0wnes of the Engineering Department reviewed the 6" ~atermain plans for Gauvitte
Building. The Board members were in agreement ~th the Engfn~eering staff on this project

Bob ~mes ~lso reviewed the electrical plans with the Beard and it ~.~s determined that
the lighting ,,~yfstem for hockey would be on a separate bid and the s~ating rink and park-
~g lights ~d be included ~zith the building bids.
Review of the present rules and operating hours for ~.~mi~ houses. The Board members
recommended t]~t for the next skating season we have larger siEns for hours for the
building and that more explicit instructions be given to the attendants as far as their
duties are concerned°
Five Year Plan
~tion by Go.ion Schelde, seconded by ~chael Farrell that the Park Board approves
the a~mended Five Year Plan as presented and recommend to the City Couucil that a re-
solution be ~a~.m up for LaBelle Park Phase II Application for receiv~_ug ~epartment
of Natural Re~ources funds. All ayes, motion carried.
Csmo Fire Council
Motion by William Hol!om, seconded by JeAnne Melin to allow the Camp Fire Council the
use of ~he Fi~ld House free of charge for their Day Camp Training Program on April 19,
1975. ~ a~s, motion carried.
High School Hocke:~~ Dinner
Motion by Gordon Schelde, seconded by Jo.~nn Melin that we allow the Senior High hockey
teem the use of the Field House for a player and parent ~dinner on l,~rch 1~, t975 from
%:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. All ayes, motion carried.
JayCees Re~ues~
After a lengt'.~y discussion on the request of the Columbia Heights JayCees to have an
Old Time Dance and a "P~ast'~, a motion ~.~s made by Michael Farrell, seconded by ~illiam
HoLlom to al!o~ the Columbia Heights JayCees the use of the Field House on l.~rch
1975 for an Old Time Dance and Roast ~.rith the permission to sell beer and set ups.

The Park Boa~d members acl~uow!edged the dona tien of a screen from the Columbia Heights
JayCees m~d ~'ohn ~zyn ~ms ~structed to write a thank you letter on behalf of the

Certificates
John Murzyn presented the new certificates of appreciation to the members for thei~ ~
review and the certificate was accepted by the Board members.
l~tion by Gordon Sche!de, seconded by JoAnn Melin to close all the rinks on
February 23, 1975 except Huset, Ostrander, ~Eenna and ~thaire, and maintain
them as weather permits. All ayes, motion carried.
~etkoff' s ~e~ignation
The Park Superintendent, John l&~rzyn reported the resignation of Richard Petkoff
as an employee of the Park Board effective February 22, 1975 to take a job with the
Coun~ Park System.

John ~.~r~ reported that he :~ceived two :/.n~o:m:~ quote, tion bids on power ~.,~.,-eeper,
one from R.L. Gould Compar~ in the amount of $2,315 and from Toro 1.kuufacturing
Co~ at a cost of $2,595.- ~Park employees were to investigate ~the power broom
chine from Toro as it is a new machine on the market, before making a decision
o£ which sweeper we will recommend.
Motion by JoAune Melin, seconded by Gordon Schelde that the meeting be adjourned.
