Members Present: JoAnn Melin, Gordon Schelde, Michael Farrell, William Hollom, John Rak and John Murzyn, Park Superintendent. Members Absent:: Sebe Heintz APPROVAL of Jb~Y 17th MINUTES The July 17th Minutes were approved as presented in writing, and the reading of these minutes dispensed with by a motion from William Hollom, seconded by JoAnn Melin. All ayes, motion carried. PAtq~ENT of BILI£ All 5ills pere authorized for payment as presented in writing, out of the proper funds by a motion from William Hollom, seconded by JoAnne Melin. All ayes, motion carried. SAFETY in .PARES., - Reports given by JoAnn Melin and ~Hchhel Farrell. The Sub Commdttee will continue their action on safety in the parks. The Park Super- intendent will keep a log of all vandlisms, noted by park and reports of these to the police chief'. DROP IN 'CENTER Discussion ~as held on the completion of the Drop In Center down in the basement of the field house. A motion was made by Ydchael Farrell, seconded by William Hollom to accept the bid received by Nedegard Construction ~ompany for the Drop In Center archway. The Park Board also directed JOtLn Murzyn to complete the floor in the Drop In Center. ~,~,7~ BUDGET REV~ Discussion and revie~l of the 1975 Park Budget was held by the Park Board members, tt was felt that a tour of the parks, followed by a special meeting to discuss budget only prior to meeting with the City Council %ms necessary. This meeting will be called by the C.hairman John Rak. TERMINATION of PHONES in SHELTER BUILDINGS The terminatio~ of phones in shelter buildings was discussed. Motion was made by ¥~chael Farr~sll, seconded by Gordon Schelde to leave phones in the ~ildings year around. All ayes, motion carried. SODDING at SILVER LAKE BEACH An estimate on the sodding of Silver Lake Beach was received from Bob (h~ens, from the City E~gineering Department. A motion was made by Gordon Schelde, seconded by W~.l~lfam Hollom to accept Mr. Owens estimate on sodding of Silver Lake Reach. All ayes~ motion carried. PERENNIAL PLANTING for East ROCK G~RDEN Discussion was held by the Park Board members on plants for the east rock garden. Motion was received from William Hollom to provide perennial planting for the east rock garden, seconded by ~ich~e! Farrell. AL1 ayes, motion carried. TP~NSFER of FUNDS A motion was made by William Hollom, seconded by JoAnne Melin to transit the following funds: 3250.00 from line item 4753.12 to Line item $753.36 Skating Rink M~intenance 51.3~ from line item /+751.53 to Line item $751.54B Building Construction 275.00 from line item 475~.22 to line item 4751.20 Communications $40.0t) From line item %751.22 to line item 4751.30 Office Supply $700~00 from line item %751.53 to line item 4751.34 Equipment Repairs $70.00 from line item 4751.23 to line item 4751.49 ~iscellaneous as presented in writing. All ayes, motion carried. - Continued. SODDING at LABELLE After discussion on sodding a LaBelle Park, it was ~,~ggested that the Jaycee's and Park Board get together and sod. The Park Board will be providing the beer. SOUTHWEST pARK Park Superintendent reported that benches and trees are the only work to be done at Southwest Park. OSTRANDER PARK It was reported to the Board that seeding and tree planting should be completed at Ostrander Park. PRESTEMON PARK It was reported that seeding will complete the base work at Prestemon Park. TENN~ COURT at HUSET The South and North side fencing of the tennis court at Huset park has been in- stalled. Motion by Michael Farrell, seconded by JoAnne Melin to adjourn the meeting.
