Members Present: John Rak, William Hollom, Sebe Heintz, Gordon Schelde, ~ich~el Fs~Tell~ JoAnne Melin, and Park Superintendent John Mnrzyn. Also present: Clayton Berg, Engineering Depar~ent Members Absent: NO~ L~_BELLE P~_RK TOUE Prior to thl~ meeting the Park Board met w~£thDean Otterson, City Pla~uer at LaBe!le Park, revie'~,ing what progress has been m~de up to the present time. The park con- struction is on schedule, and completion of the park contract is in site. READEG of T~ M&Y 1 ~, 1974 MINUTES Reading of the May 15, 197% Minutes were dispensed with, and accepted as presented in x,~iting by a motion from Sebe Heintz, seconded by JoAnne Melin. All ayes, motion carried. PAYMENT of BILLS All b~ls presented on the autkorization for p~nent sheet were authorized for payment out of the proper funds by a motion from William Hollom, secondedby Gordon Schelde. All ayes, motion carried. HUSE~T TENNIB CO~TS Clayton Berg, Engineering Department reported the unsts~leness of so~_! conditions at the new te~is courts in Huset Park and ~ll require a 3'~ asphalt b~se. SILVF~ LAKE BEACH Zt ~s requ~sted by the Park Board that a temporary deterant be placed by the entrsmce to the Beach, until a permanent fence is installed by the City. V~IDJ~SM in PAR}~ ~chae! Farrell reported that most of the ground ~rk on Park Vands~!ism Report has been con~!eted and as soon as JoArn~e Melin and ~ch~el Farrell can get together a report ~]i be formulated and presented to the Park Board. T~EPHONES William Hollom reported that the cost of telephones for shelter buildings w~lP be $6.70 per month and an $11.00installation charge. These phones are not p~y phones, and William Hollom suggested that a locking device may be installed on the phones to prevent unau~horized oll calls. A motion was made by l~illiamHollom, seconded by JoAnne Me!~ to have these phones installed in M~thaire, Hilltop, pstrander and }~Eenna. ~ll ayes, motion carried. ~,0L!CE DFIY FOR BEACH ~ John~rzyn reported the two of~du~y, po!icemenJ[~ve bee~.hired at$7.00 perhour to patrol Silver Lake Beach fo~ a zwo (2) week period from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.E. ~M_th one Eanper night. GADVITTE FENC~ After discussion on the fencing at G~uvitte Parknntil estimated cost is obtained and that members of the P~rk Board have looked over the site. All ayes, notion c~rried. W_~_~ER and PORTABLE LAVATORIES ~ The necessity of water and toilets facilities at Gauvitte Park were discussed. A motion was made by JoAnne Melin, seconded by Gordon Schelde to provide water and portable toilets at Gauvitte Park. Ayes; Sebe Heintz, Gordon Schelde, William Hollom, and JoAnne Melin. Nayes: l~ichael Farrell. Motion Carried. Chairman John Rak d~rected John ~.~rzy~ to answer Dean 0tterson, City Planner' s letter and inform him that his item 2, 3, 4, and 6 will be included in the 1975 Park Board Budget and also to thank him for his input.
