October 21, 1970
Meeting called to order by William Hollom, acting chairman
Members present: Hol!om, Jarvenpa, Welch &,Murzyn
Members absent: Rah & Super
Motion by Welch seconded by Jarvenpa that the minutes be accepted as
presented in writing. Ail ayes.
Murz,¥n reported that no compl~ints h~ve been called in about "AstroT
City" playgrounds. The night light has not been installed by Northern
States Power Co. as of the present time.
The gate at Si!var Lake Beach has been reset in concrete as requested
by the Board members and also a fence was repaired by Mr. Parson's that was
cut by wire cutters.
A fence was installed in Gauvitte Park along the Irvin Paterson pro-
perty line.
Motion by Welch seconded by Jarvenp~ that the Superintendent send
thank you letter to Mr. Ken Wick, who donated his time in painting the
0strander P~rk warming house. Ail ayes.
Motion by Jarvenpa seconded by Welch that the rentsi rates for square
dances and political sct'[vities be charge the sp0cified rates. Ail ayes.
Motion by Welch seconded by J~rvenpa that the phones be installed in warm-
ing houses for the 1970-71 skating season. Ail ayes.
Motion by Jarvenpa seconded by Welch that t.he request of Mr. Baston be
granted of installing snow fence S~oBg his property line west of "Astro City"
playgrounds. Ail ~yes.
Motion by Jsrvenpa seconded b.*..? Welch that the request of Columbia Heights
Firemen and their families be granted the use of the Field House on December
13, 1970. Ail ayes.
Murzyn reported that it cost the Park Board a total of 47.69 for a pub-
!~_c phone at the Bathhouse during the 1970 swimming season.
A progress, report on McKenna snd also a discussion.
The Psrk Board members discussed the possibility of having a Council
member on the Perk Board Commission.
The Senior Citizens progrsm was brought to our attention by Mr. Welch
and he felt that if possible we place on high priority the construction of
s shuffle board, bowling green, and checker boards some where in Huset Perk
in 1971.
Motion by Jsrvenpa seconded by Welch that the Superintendent set s tour
of our park system For the Psrk Board Members. Ail syes.
