HomeMy WebLinkAboutJanuary 17, 1966Regular Park Board Meeting January 17, 1966 Meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman John Rak. Members present: Marvin Super, John Rak, Don Lewis & John Murzyn Superintendent Murzyn reported that the Suburban Engineering Inc. firm has completed the Silver Lak~ Beach shore area topography study and they are continuing the water bottom investigation, using test holes thru the ice. Mr. Robert~Corwine is preparing primary development plans for Memorial Park. Murzyn reported that Satelite Service is furnishing two port- able toilets each at the LaBell, Mathaire, and Ostrander ice rinks. Motion by Super, seconded by Lewis that the Board grant the use of the Field House facilities for the Columbia Heights Boosters Club Baseball Dinner on January 20, 1966. All ayes. A letter from the N. E. District Bluebirds was read extend- ing th~nks and appreciation for the use of the Field House facil- ities on December 30, 196~ for their Sno Day. Mr. Novotny requested to change the Boards meeting night from Monday to Wednesday. This was deferred for want of a motion. Murzyn reported that warming house attendants ~are unavailable at $1.~0 per hour from 3:30 to 5:00 P.M. at Hilltop, LaBe~lle, and Mathaire. The Board directed.Superintendent Murzyn to more fully invest- igate the Snow mobile problem~and discuss the possibility of design- ating certain non critical, non-use (personnel) areas for the mechanical device. Mr. Pete.Peterson, a square dance caller has offered to pro- mote square dancing in the Field House with the Park Board. He is conducting this activity in other suburb~. The Board suggested that Mr. Peterson appear at the next regular meeting to explain his proposition~for a decision at that time. Motion by Lewis seconded by Super that we adjourn. All ayes.
