HomeMy WebLinkAboutMay 2, 1939 The Park Board meeting was called to order on May 2, 1959 at 8:00 P. N. Roll call was taken and. all were present. The minutes were read and approved as read. Oscar Christof£erson of the Planning Board presented an itemized cost of equipment and also suggested a tap dancing and a piano teacher teach lessons during the summer. Mr. MeRs, who has been transferred from W. P. A. to recreation (ll0 hours a montk W. P. A.) asks is we can give him $15.00 additional for full time. It was moved By Spekulant and seconded by 01sson that the proposal be accepted. The motion was carried. Christofferson asked for free use of the hall for a dance to be put on by the Diamond Baseball League to pay their umpires. The opinion was, that the Board should not deviate from their policy of not oermitting free use of the building. Bert Allen reported on the result of W. p. A. work; proposals have to be more definite. Thursday night at 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. the Park Board is %o meet with Campbell and Allen. Superintendents Reoort: Reciepts total April Salaries Other Expenses $1021.45 $411.oo A letter of resignation was received from the Suoerintendent. It was moved by Nelson and seconded by Peterson that the Superintendents resigna{ion be tabled until next meeting. The motion was carried. -Continued- Mr, Seman, from the Garden Club, asked for use of the hall for June and August Peony Show. It was moved by Nelson and seconded by Spekulant that the request be accepted. Motion was carried. Mrs. Smith asked for permission to hold a tea and cards for some time in ~ay. It ~vas moved by S~ekulant and seconded by Petersor~ that'the request be granted. The motion was carried. It was moved by the Secretary a~d seconded by Nelson that the Secretary be instructed to write a letter of thanks to the Civic Improvement Association for the donation of trees to the park. Motion was carried. The Chairman is to get a ledger and other books necessary for complete bookkeeping. It was moved by Nelson and seconded by Peterson that not mere than ~i25.00 be allotted at present for recreation. Motion carried. It was moved by Peterson and seconded by Nelson that bills totaling "3237,08 Be allowed. The motion was :carried. Superi,~tendent suggested to la~- off each man for one month, but no action was taken. Nteeting was adjourned.
