REPORTS
RECREATION DEPARTMENT
Basketball has been a huge success - we even had to borrow
additional uniforms for an additional team.
A draft flyer inviting residents to the opening of the Huset Park
Skating Rink was handed out. Casey stated that the dates being
considered for the grand opening of the skating rink was either
January 10 or 17. Petkoff stated he had additional information for
Casey on the proposed hay ride.
January 28 is the date chosen for the Coach's Appreciation Dinner.
Joe Schmit of Channel 5 Sports will be the guest speaker.
PARK DEPARTMENT
The lights at the skating rink were tested and turned on today.
The approximate dates for the delivery and installation of the
bridge is December 15, railings for bridge January 8, and
installation of grills December 15.
The park crews are busy making ice at the parks.
City Council is looking favorable at opening LaBelle Park warming
house. The problem is a faulty furnace at the warming house.
Ms. Joseph Wargo and Jim Kordiak both expressed their appreciation
to Winson on the christmas decorations at Wargo Court. It was
suggested that he contact the paper to promote Wargo Court.
Winson also reported on the amount of vandalism at Wargo Court. He
stated over 400 light bulbs had been stolen. A discussion was held
on how to deter the vandalism.
The rinks will open, weather permitting, December 23.
COMMISSION MEMBERS
Hollom thanked the Commission members for their tremendous support
this past year.
