The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bill Hollom at 6:30
p.m.

CONSENT AGENDA
The following items were on the consent agenda.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Moved to approve the minutes of the August 28, 1991 meeting.
APPROVAL OF PAYMENT OF BILLS
Moved to approve payment of the bills as listed from the proper
funds.
REQUEST HALL/COLUMBIA HEIGHTS LASSIES
Moved to approve the use of the main hall and kitchen by the
Columbia Heights Hyland Lassies Dance Line for a spaghetti dinner
fund raiser on Sunday, October 20, 1991 with the fee waived.
Moved to approve the use of the Edgemoor Room by the Columbia
Heights Hyland Lassies Dance Line for dance line practices based
upon the availability of the room with the fee waived.
APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA
Motion by Fowler, second by Peterson to approve the consent agenda
as presented. All ayes, motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
BOOTSTRAP DAYS
Casey told the members that Bootstrap Days was a success. A few
suggestions for the parks were turned in with approximately 300 to
400 kids participating. Casey felt it was a good turn out and
something to build on.

DECEMBER MEETING DATE
Motion by Fowler, second by Ruettimann to change the date of the
December meeting from the 25th to the 18th of December. Ail ayes,
motion carried.
TOASTMASTERS DONATION
The Board members appreciated the gift of $150 and instructed Casey
to thank the Toastmasters and tell them that we would certainly put
the money to good use.
SKATING RINK
Saturday, September 28th is the date that the volunteers have
chosen to start the work on the skating rink at Huset Park. Ail
members are invited.
REPORTS
Salsbury
1) A spillage at K-Mart emptied into Sullivan Lake. Salsbury
stated that the Pollution Control Agency was called.
2) The plantings at Wargo Court are in and look good.
3) A decision regarding the wading pool at Mathaire Park will be
made this winter.
4) Huset Park east parking lot is in bad shape and probably not
worth trying to reconstruct at present site due to use and
swamp underlying lot.
5) Vandalism in the parks has been mostly graffiti during the last
month. One exception is damage to lighting at Sullivan Lake
Park.

1) Samples of the stationery were shown to the members.
members chose the stationery with the park addresses.

Samples of the fall activities were given to the members.
The carpeting in the hall is being replaced and the carpeting
in the lower level is being cleaned.

A new concept in paying is being tried with traveling
basketball. Names are taken and after the players make the
team, registration and money is collected before they get their
uniforms.

A draft copy of the Management Plan was handed out and members
are requested to read the copy and bring their ideas to the
next meeting.

A discussion was held regarding the unused parcels of land in
Southwest Park, in particular the northern most parcel. It serves
no purpose as far as park purposes, and is just a maintenance
burden to the taxpayers as a whole. As a result, the following
motion was made:
Motion by Ruettiman, second by Murzyn to recommend to the City
Council they sell lots 23 through 30 of Block 73, Columbia Heights
Annex to Minneapolis, Anoka County, Minnesota, presently considered
part of Southwest Park and purchase all of Block 2, except lots 1,
2, and 3 of Second Subdivision of Block F, Columbia Heights Annex,
Anoka County, Minnesota, a parcel adjacent to Huset Park.

Motion by ?eterson, second by Fowler to adjourn at 7:50 p.m.
