Representative Meadowcraft stated that the Association wished to work
with the city and that they did not want to run the program. He stated
that they found working with the schools both the elementary and the high
school worked very well. The association has a meeting with the
administration at the middle school this week. He also stated that they
have a few rough edges to smooth out but with the boys and girls basketball
coordinators it should work fine.
It was requested that the Recreation Director give the Commission an
update at the next meeting.
ADULT BASKETBALL TEAM REIMBURSEMENT CLAIM
Walter Szymczak attended the meeting to explain his reasoning for
requesting the return of the entry fee of $275.00 for not receiving a paid
berth at the MRPA State Tournament.
Mr. Szymczak stated that he was told by staff that all rules and policies
would be the same as the previous year when his team was allowed to
attend the tournament. He also stated that because his '~" team paid the
same amount to join the league as the 'A" team he should be allowed to
attend the tournament and finally he stated he was sent a MRPA booklet
giving dates of the tournaments.
Commission members stated that the players did have a full 3 months to
play basketball and that the league schedule (which was sent them) did not
indicate they would be allowed to play in the state tournament. Therefore,
motion by Peterson, second by Foss to deny their request for the return of
the entry fee. It was also noted that in future brochures and all recreation
literature all post season play or other pertinent information should be
included. All ayes, motion ca,¥1ed.
LETTERS AND REQUESTS CONTINUATION
REQUEST MEETING ROOM/MINNESOTA YOUTH ATTIC SERVICES
Because of the proximity of the date a telephone survey was done to
approve the use of the hall on Sunday, May 7, 1995 so now it needs official
action. Motion by Peterson, second by Grady to approve the use of the hall
for Minnesota Youth Athletic Services with charge for custodian only. All
ayes, motion carried.

SCHOOL DISTRICT EXERCISE CLASSES
Info, ,r~ation was given the members regarding a scheduled class by the
School District when an event was not scheduled at the hall. Commission
members questioned why we were charged over $3,000 at the school for use
of their gymnasiums and we did not charge the school district. Karen
Moeller was requested to get a break down of the dates and hours we used
the school.
REQUEST STOP SIGN-WADING POOL/HUSET PARK
A letter was received from Karen Gutkaes, Chairman of the Huset Park
Neighborhood Association, requesting that a permanent stop sign by placed
on Mill Street by the wading pool.
After discussion, motion by Evans, second by Peterson to defer the request
to the Traffic Commission without any recommendation. All ayes, motion
