He stated that they found working with the schools both the elementary and the high school worked very well. The association has a meeting with the administration at the middle school this week. He also stated that they have a few rough edges to smooth out but with the boys and girls basketball coordinators it should work fine. It was requested that the Recreation Director give the Commission an update at the next meeting. ADULT BASKETBALL TEAM REIMBURSEMENT CLAIM Walter Szymczak attended the meeting to explain his reasoning for requesting the return of the entry fee of $275.00 for not receiving a paid berth at the MRPA State Tournament. Mr. Szymczak stated that he was told by staff that all rules and policies would be the same as the previous year when his team was allowed to attend the tournament. He also stated that because his '~" team paid the same amount to join the league as the 'A" team he should be allowed to attend the tournament and finally he stated he was sent a MRPA booklet giving dates of the tournaments. Commission members stated that the players did have a full 3 months to play basketball and that the league schedule (which was sent them) did not indicate they would be allowed to play in the state tournament. Therefore, motion by Peterson, second by Foss to deny their request for the return of the entry fee. It was also noted that in future brochures and all recreation literature all post season play or other pertinent information should be included. All ayes, motion ca,¥1ed.
