PROEJCTS & GOALS: A. Tax forms: The display of tax forms and instruction booklets was dismantled on Monday, April 18. This year, the library experienced less traffic for tax forms than in past years, maybe due to the more widespread use of e-filing. B. Fidelity Cleaners: Fidelity conducted a walk-thru of the library on Wednesday, April 27. Sue Brown continues to be the substitute cleaner and does an adequate job. When I leave her messages in the logbook, she responds and takes care of the matter promptly. C. Supply ordering: During the month, I ordered miscellaneous office supplies, audio cases, barcodes, and security strips. D. Book displays: The displays of new fiction and non-fiction continues on the lobby display panel and in the adult reading room. Each new book is displayed with a brightly colored "NEW" tag that protrudes from the book. The circulation on these books has been very good with displays needing to be refilled daily. E. National Library Week: National Library Week was celebrated with a proclamation read at the City Council meeting on April 11th and a guess contest at the library. Prizes were awarded to those with the closest guess to the correct number. F. Volunteers: Friends of the Library volunteered 3 hours this month delivering library items to "At home" patrons. G. ILS implementation: I attended the Essential Skills class at Northtown library on Wednesday, April 6th and Circulation Training on Thursday, April 28th. H.
