HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2004-01 PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2004-01 RESOLUTION OF TI-I~ CITY OF COLUMBIA lqFIGHTS PLANNING COMMISSION FINDING THAT A MODIFICATION TO TI~ DOWNTOWN CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT (CBD) REVITALIZATION PLAN FOR THE CBD REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AND THE TAX INCREMENT FINANCING PLAN FOR THE HUSET PARK AREA TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT (A REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT) CONFORM TO TI-W, GENERAL PLANS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND REDEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY. WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, (the "City") has proposed to adopt a Modification to the Downtown CBD Revitalization Plan for the CBD Redevelopment Project (the "Revitalization Plan Modification") and adopt a Tax Increment Financing Plan ("TIF Plan") for the Huset Park Area Tax Increment Financing District (the "TW District") within the CBD Redevelopment Project (the Revitalization Plan Modification and the TIF Plan are referred to collectively herein as the "Plans") and has submitted the Plans to the City Planning Commission (the "Commission") pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 469.175, Subd. 3, and WHEREAS, the Commission has reviewed the Plans to determine their conformity with the general plans for the development and redevelopment of the City as described in the comprehensive plan for the City; and WHEREAS, on July 7, 2004 the Commission recommended that the City Council approve an amendment to the City comprehensive plan (the "Comp Plan Amendment") for the area that includes the proposed TIF District; and WHEREAS, the Comp Plan Amendment guides the area of the proposed TIF District for the types of land uses proposed in the Plans. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission that: 1. The Plans conform with the City comprehensive plan, as amended by the Comp Plan Amendment. The Commission's determination that the Plans are consistent with the comprehensive plan is conditioned upon City Council approval of the Comp Plan Amendment.
