A. Friends of the Library: The Friends of the Library met for a luncheon meeting at 11:00
a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2004, at the Dragon House restaurant in Columbia Heights.
I was not able to attend because we were short staffed at the library. Pat Jindra is
considering the position of coordinator for the Campbell’s Labels for Education program.
st
Their next meeting is scheduled for November 1 at 1:00 p.m. in the Library’s
boardroom.

materials. They were delivered by Sandi Engquist.

Place on Wednesday, October 6.

A. Book display: “Bury Yourself in a Ghoul Booook” is the theme of this month’s book
display. Some of the authors included in the display are: Peter Straub, Orson Scott Card,
Jonathan Kellerman, Stephen King, John Saul, Tami Hoag, and Dan Simmons.

orders prepared.
C. Monthly budget report: The monthly library and office supply report was updated
through October 25, 2004.
D. Fidelity Cleaners: A temporary cleaner has been assigned to the library and is doing a
decent job cleaning. I’ve had to remind her to do some of the routine tasks, but I believe
it is because she was not well trained. She will be assigned to the library until a
permanent replacement is found.

reading.
F. Brochures: I completed a brochure on “Online Resources” for distribution to the public.
I’ve placed copies of it by the computerized catalogs.

SIRSI and III on October 6 and 14 at the Anoka County Library in Blaine.
H. Polish American Heritage Month: I pulled books on Poland and arranged a display in the
adult reading room.
