I. BUILDING MAINTENANCE
A. The windows were cleaned 2/11.
B. Honeywell performed routine maintenance on the HV AC 2/13.
C. Orkin performed routine maintenance 2/18 and checked on the grease-ant problem in the
basement.
II. COLLECTION
A. The bindery picked up and delivered items 2/4.
B. Adult paperbacks were ordered.
C. Three large book orders were placed and received during the month.
III. EQUIPMENT
A. No changes.
IV. PROGRAMS
A. The Friends cancelled their February meeting.
B. The Board met 2/3 with five members present.
C. Eights sessions of preschool storytime were held during the month.
D. The bulk loan to the high rises was delivered 2/4.
E. ICS classes visited the Library during their regularly scheduled times the week of 2/9.
F. Marsha spoke to a class at the Family Center 2/12 on the importance of reading to preschool
children.
G. Becky attended the Library Foundation Meeting 2/18. The June fundraiser preparations are
proceeding on schedule.
R. The bulk loan was delivered to the schools 2/26.
I. The Adult Reading Program, "Hot Reads for Cold Nights", ended 2/28.
V. AUTOMATED CIRCULATION SYSTEM
A. No changes.
VI. STAFF
A. Marsha attended summer teen program meetings 2/5 and 2/12.
B. Becky attended an ILS (Integrated Library System) meeting 2/11. This project is moving
along according to schedule so that the ACS will be replaced in 2004.
C. Becky attended Technology Plan Meetings 2/12 and 2/19. The Plan is due to MELSA by
3/1 for submission to the State by 4/26. Certification of the Plan qualifies the Library for
RL T A (Regional Library Telecommunications Aid) funds and E- Rate.
D. Marsha attended a MELSA workshop on the Summer Reading Club 2/24.
E. Jeanine participated in a cable shoot 2/25.
F. Ramon Gomez and Stephanie Bengtson reached their 24-months anniversaries as Library
Pages.
VII. MISC
A. A MELSA crossover use survey was conducted 2/10.
B. Bob Streetar has arranged for a sign that used to hang in the entryway of the old high school
to be housed at the Library. The sign was delivered 2/13.
C. The Library's 2003 Annual Report was submitted 2/18.
D. Major projects in progress:
a. Performance reviews.
b. Technology Plans (ACL and CHPL) revisions.
c. Foundation Fundraiser.
d. Staff recruitment, interviewing, and training.
