A. Friends of the Library: The Friends met on Monday, November 3rd, at 1:00 p.m. in the Library
Boardroom. The Friends voted to have their membership cards reprinted by IPC, Nancy Rathbun
and Rita Norberg volunteered to put address labels on the birthday invitations, and the Project

on Wednesday, November Ith and 19th. The first session was attended by two people; the second
session by three. In December, one session will be held on the 1 ih and three persons have
already registered.
E. 75th Anniversary Celebration: On the bulletin board, I displayed photographs of twelve of our
past employees. Their photos were arranged as on a charm bracelet with the heading "Links to
the Past. During November, former employees were honored as "Patrons of the Month". I
prepared a form to be used for the birthday prize drawings, brought in supplies for the coffee and
baskets for the prize drawing slips. I spoke with Mary Guy from the cable station, and she will be
here on Dec. 3rd. I prepared text for the December commemorative edition of the Sampler, which
will include a photo/newspaper collage on the front page.
F. Volunteers: Adopt-a-shelfvolunteers worked 10 hours this month. One of them was from the
Columbia Heights High School and volunteering to fulfill a class requirement.
G. Fidelity Cleaners: With Sheryl Enrico of Fidelity, I conducted a walk thru of the library on
Thursday, November 20. She is still not pleased with the cleaning at the library and said she will
speak with the cleaner and remind him that he needs to do all the daily tasks everyday. There
continues to be an issue with the mop causing an odor in the supply room downstairs. I talked
with both Mitch Beauman and Sheryl about this matter. Twice this month a new mop head was
installed, and the cleaner was to try a spray on disinfectant on the mop, but the problem
continues. As of Tuesday, Nov. 25, the mop will be hung to dry in the janitor's closed in the
