May 2003 Operational Report

I.
COLLECTION PROJECTS:
A. Magazines. Magazines were labeled and bugged.
B. Paperbacks. Paperbacks were ordered, received, and labeled. Damaged
paperbacks were withdrawn and/or reordered.
C. Paperback Labels. New labels for the paperback racks were posted.
D. Fiction Project. Books written by "A" authors were inventoried, mended,
withdrawn, or reordered as needed.
II.
MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:
A. Fire Extinguishers. Gauges were checked May 16, 2003.
B. Security Gates. Filters were cleaned May 16,2003.
C. Air Fresheners. Restroom air fresheners were changed May 16, 2003.
D. Public Works. Public Works was notified about miscellaneous projects.
E. Anderson's New Carpet. Anderson's was notified to do an estimate for three
carpet maintenance projects.
F. Minitex. A Model 955 3M sensitizer was ordered from Minitex.
III. MISCELLANEOUS:
A. Damaged Bookshelf. The damaged bookshelf was maintained.
B. Story time Kits. Entry of Marsha's storytime kits into the shared directory
continues.
C. Withdrawns. Circulation statistics were researched for potential withdrawn
items.
D. Copier. Information about digital copiers was obtained from various
companies. State contracts were also researched.
E. Shelf-Reading Assignments. June shelf-reading was assigned and posted.
F. Month-End Memo. Attendance gate count, building use count, and Internet
statistics were entered into the shared directory and distributed to supervisors.
G. III Drawer/Notebook & Statements. ILL Items were maintained. Statements
were accounted for on the bill list and in the expenditures binder.
H. III Verification. NTN-IG items on SIN list were verified.
I. Minutes. Staff meeting notes were typed and distributed.
J. Voice Mail. Voice mail was changed to reflect the May 26,2003 closing.
K. CPR Training. A CPR class was taken May 12,2003.
