Friends of the Library: The Friends of the Library met on Monday, March 3,2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the Library boardroom. They continue to collect Campbell's labels for the Labels for Education program and will bank their labels again this year. A membership form was sent out with the Library newsletter to members not in attendance at this meeting. I gave the Friends an update on the adult winter reading program, "Celebrate Books", and on March's event, "Read across Heights". Their next meeting will be Monday, April 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Keys restaurant in Spring Lake Park. I prepared an invitation to this meeting, and it was mailed early in the month. Members who plan to attend the evening meeting need to RSVP to Nancy Rathbun. B. At home Service: I selected and processed books for delivery to four "At Home Patrons". C. Bulk Loans: I selected, processed, and delivered bulk loans to Parkview Villa and Heights Manor on Wednesday, March 5. There is still a problem with the distribution of the bulk loan at the Royce Place/Columbia Village/ Boulevard Apartments complex. Gigi Chollett, housing administrator, does not have a location for the books to be checked out and returned. I called Erin Segal, activities director at The Boulevard apartments, to discuss the problem at her location.
