The Friends of the Library met on Monday, June 3, in the Library Boardroom with Margaret Anderson presiding. They discussed the bo ok sale and were pleased with the $1,407.70 they made. Most of this year’s successful sale is attributed to the good response to the pre - sale. Thirty people purchased tickets and shopped. Margaret announced Rita Norberg being chosen as th the 2002 Humanita rian of the Year and the date for her 50 wedding anniversary party. The Friends will not meet in July and August and scheduled their next meeting on Monday, September 9, at the Library and a dinner meeting on Monday, October 7, at the Keys Restaurant. At home service B. : I selected and processed requests for 4 “At home deliveries” which were delivered by Sandi Engquist and Dave Briley. One of my “at home” patrons has recovered from her surgery and did stop in the library to say hello to me and to return her books. She really appreciated this service during her recovery. Bulk Loans: C. I processed bulk loans to Parkview Villa and Heights Manor and delivered them on Wednesday, June 5. II. : Collection development Collection Development A. : The travel brochu res and state highway maps received this month were labeled and put in the vertical file. Some of the new audio books ordered early this year have been processed and are circulating. We are waiting on cases for the remainder of the order. III. : Projects and goals Supply ordering: A. I completed the inventory of library and office supplies and have processed several orders. The remaining orders will be sent out the first week in July. Book Display B. : I arranged a display of newer fiction for the display boar d and entitled it “Cool Reads for Summer”. Budget Report: C. I updated the monthly budget report for supplies. Photo Albums: D. I added and labeled all the photographs I had of library activities, so the albums are currently up to date. IV. : Miscellaneous ? ? th Posted signs for July 4 . ? ? Updated homebound records. ? ? Pulled shelf list cards for items withdrawn. ? ? Supervised staff while Becky was on vacation June 21 - 26. ? ? Prepared articles for the Fall edition of Heights Happenings. ? ? Prepared articles for the July Sample r. ? ? Posted New York Times Best Seller List. ? ? Conducted a walk through with Fidelity. ? ? Added book to the COH - NEW displays. ? ? Took digital photos for use in the Library newsletter. ? ? I was on vacation Friday, June 14. MMK/jms
