I. COLLECTION PROJECTS
A. Shifting.
The non-fiction collection, numbers 0-745, has been shifted. The
shelves will be receiving new labels to mark both shelves and aisles.
II. MAINTENANCE PROJECTS
A. Fire Extinguishers.
Gauges were checked May 17, 2002
B. Security Gates.
Filters were cleaned May 17, 2002.
C. Keyboards.
The last of the five circulation keyboards was cleaned this month.
D. Maintenance Calls.
Maintenance calls were placed in order to begin the
following projects:
1. Exterior Painting:
RW Ceilings & Walls came by to assess the

building May 29, 2002. Waiting for estimate to arrive.
2. Shelf-tightening:
Waiting to hear from Mr. Sherry. Want to have
someone come by to assess loose shelves and have them tightened.

3. Blind-cleaning:
Altra Blinds is scheduled to clean our blinds June 4.

New Equipment:
Called Minitex in order to get estimates for two new
de-/sensitizer machines. Also, Sundberg Appliance is in process of
opening an account from which we will order dehumidifier parts.

Shattered Front Door:
An emergency call was placed to Fast Glass &
Mirror to replace our shattered front door. The glass was replaced

III. TRAINING
Excel Training.
Excel training began this month. I have taken nine lessons via the
Internet as of May 31, 2002.
IV. MISCELLANEOUS
A. Magazines.
Magazine labels were typed twice during the week. Magazines
were also given barcodes and bugged
B. Anniversary Banner.
Estimates were taken from five businesses in order to

determine where we would purchase our banner for the 75 Anniversary.
C. Shelf-reading Assignments.
June shelf-reading was assigned and posted.
D. Withdrawn Items.
Items were withdrawn from the system and recycled.
E. Month-End Memo.
Information for the month-end memo was compiled,
typed, and distributed to supervisors.
F. Paperback Orders.
The paperback order from April was checked in and
labeled so it could be processed. A list of books that could not be filled by
Bookmen was typed.
G. Ill Drawer/Notebook. .
Both items were maintained
H. Minutes. .
Staff meeting notes were typed and distributed
I. Fixed Asset Notebook.
The Fixed Asset folder was updated.
