COLLECTION PROJECTS A. Shifting. Nonfiction shifting has begun. Shelves 0-300 are done. I plan to finish up through the 740’s as soon as possible. New shelf labels and subject heading labels are being made. B. Shelf-List Cards. More shelf-list cards were typed throughout the month. II. MAINTENANCE PROJECTS A. Fire Extinguishers. Gauges were checked April 19, 2002 B. Security Gates. Filters were cleaned April 19, 2002. C. Drinking Fountain. A work order was put in to Public Works to fix the drinking fountain. Public Works was able to fix the fountain, and it is now up and running. D. Track Mats. American Rug Laundry cleaned the library’s track mats April 2, 2002. E. Carpets. Stanley Steemer cleaned the library’s carpets April 27, 2002. F. Keyboards. Four of the five circulation keyboards were cleaned this month. The remaining keyboard will be cleaned sometime in May. III. TRAINING A. Excel Training. Excel training is just beginning. Instruction will take place over the Internet. IV. MISCELLANEOUS A. Magazines. Magazine labels were typed twice during the week. Magazines were also given barcodes and bugged. B. Shelf-reading Assignments. May shelf-reading is assigned and posted. C. Withdrawn Items. Many reference and nonfiction items were withdrawn this month. Discarded items were recycled and salvageable items were added to the upcoming book sale. D. Month-End Memo. Information for the March month-end memo was compiled, typed, and distributed to supervisors. E. Paperback Orders. The paperback order for April was typed and faxed to Bookmen for order filling. F. Ill Drawer/Notebook. . Both items were maintained G. Minutes. . Staff meeting notes were typed and distributed
