Programs
Friends:
A. The Friends of the Library met on Monday, March 4, at 1:00 p.m. at the library with 10
members present. They discussed the book sale and made plans for their April evening dinner
meeting. I also discussed with the Friends the request from the Library Board to have an open
house during National Library Week. This open house was cancelled after the Friends met. After
the meeting, a speaker from the Anoka County Action program made a presentation to the
Friends about services available to senior citizens in the county.
I prepared an invitation for the Friends evening meeting on April 1, at Keys Restaurant and sent a
copy to each member. Nancy Rathbun made the restaurant reservation and members will RSVP
to her.
At home service
B. : During March four “At Home Service” patrons requested book delivery. They
were delivered by Sandi Engquist.

Projects and goals
Tax forms:
A. Tax season continues and I’ve reordered many of the most common forms. Debra
Patrin is still volunteering to help with the tax forms on Thursday night and Saturday until April
15.
Book display:
B. Many new books were added to the fiction and non-fiction COH-NEW displays.
The book display in the lobby was changed to feature our newer books on quilting. It coordinates
with the quilting display in the east room arranged by Gloria Tarmann and Rita Norberg. An
article about this display will be in the April library newsletter.
th
Adult reading program:
C. The adult reading program ended on Saturday, March 16. The total
number of participants in the reading program was 135, and 43 book reviews were submitted.
The grand prize drawing was held on Monday, March 18. The prizes included: $10.00 gift
certificates to Barnes & Noble, key chain, canvas book bag, books (atlas, almanac, & reader’s
journal), solitaire card game set, set of bookmark pens, and Saturday night at the movie packs.
The movie packs included a six-pack of coke, two packages of microwave popcorn, and two
coupons to check out rental videos free of charge. This program was very well received by our
adult patrons and many said they enjoyed it.
