I. :
Programs
Friends:
A. The Friends of the Library meet at the library on Monday, February 4 at 1:00 p.m. in
the Library boardroom. At the meeting, Becky and Marsha presented the wish list. Becky
discussed the book sale with the Friends, and the sale will be Thursday, May 16 with the presale
the evening before on Wednesday, May 15. Presale tickets will be $5.00 and can be purchased at
the door on the evening of the sale. Many book donations have already been received for the
sale. Nancy tabled the discussion on the formation of a book club until next month. After the
meeting several of the Friends volunteered to assemble adult reading program packets. The
Friends will have an evening dinner meeting in April.
At home service
B. : During the month four “At home service” patrons requested book delivery
including one new patron who resides at Park View Villa.
Bulk loans
C. : I processed bulk loans for Parkview Villa and Heights Manor and delivered them on
Wednesday, February 6.
II. :
Collection development
A. This month, I did not have an opportunity to work on collection development.
III. :
Projects and goals
Tax forms:
A. Early in the month, I reordered both federal and Minnesota tax forms. Debra Patrin
also continues to volunteer to help maintain the forms and answer tax questions.
Book display:
B. The display of fitness and diet books continued throughout the month. March is
Women’s History Month, and I plan to do a book display entitled, “Remember the Ladies” which
will feature books written about and by memorable women in history.
Adult reading program:
C. The adult reading program Hot reads for cold nights: continued this
month with 134 adult patrons registered. Two additional booklists were printed: Gentle Reads
(book with little sex and violence) and “The best of 2001 recommended by Barnes and Noble.
Weekly prizes were given out and program participants have submitted 32 book reviews.

Prepared copy for library’s March newsletter.

Prepared signs for President’s Day holiday.

Ordered supplies.
·
Prepared shelf reading list for March.
·
Sent out February newsletter to ACL and City staff.
·
Posted New York Times Best Seller list.
·
I was on vacation February 8-26.
