I. BUILDING MAINTENANCE
A. Honeywell replaced a motor in the air-handling unit 2/4.
B. Mary conducted a walk-through with Fidelity Cleaners 2/7.
II. COLLECTION
A. The adult music audiocassettes were weeded.
B. The magazine holdings have been reduced to three years for all titles except National
Geographic and the weekly news magazines. The newspaper project is about 25% finished.
The new wire shelving for the archival boxes has been received and assembled.
C. The adult 800’s have been weeded.
D. The adult audiocassettes and large print books have been shifted to allow for better use of
the shelving units and expansion of the books on tape collection.
III. EQUIPMENT
A. The Mita copier was repaired 2/4.
B. The media converters connecting the Library to the City LAN failed on 2/5. Aleksandr
installed a temporary fix and ordered replacements. The new departmental printer was also
installed 2/5.
C. The Buckstaff online table for the Children’s Department was received 2/5.
D. The City network was upgraded 2/16.
IV. PROGRAMS
A. The Friends met 2/4 with ten members in attendance.
B. The Board met 2/5 with four members present.
C. Eight sessions of pre-school storytime were held during the month.
D. The bulk loan was delivered to the schools 2/21.
V. AUTOMATED CIRCULATION SYSTEM
A. The system experienced several problems over the month with the electronic databases, the
Internet connection, and the Web 2 catalog. Manual charge had to be used three days.
VI. STAFF
A. Mindy Hicks started 2/4 as the Library Clerk. She will be working 30 hours per week.
B. Interviews for the vacant page positions were held 2/5, 2/6, and 2/7.
C. Barb Kondrick presented a program on how to use the Library to the Assembly of God
Missionettes 2/6.
D. Jeanine attended Municipals 2/7.
E. Four pages (Beth, Jenny, Alicia, and Ben) had performance reviews in February.
F. Mindy was introduced to the City Council at their meeting of 2/11.
G. Marsha attended a Libra meeting 2/13.
H. Marsha and Mary Johnson, Children’s Librarian at the Mississippi Branch of Anoka County
Library, met to review the collection and to discuss cooperative projects.
I. Page training started 2/28 for the new pages: Stephanie Bengtson, Ramon Gomez, and
Jennifer Stromquist.
VII. MISC
A. The City version of the annual report has been submitted.
B. A MELSA crossover survey was conducted 2/6.
