I. BUILDING MAINTENANCE
A. The fire extinguishers were serviced 5/1.
B. Honeywell performed maintenance on the rooftop air conditioners 5/4.
C. Public Works assisted with restroom clean-up 5/21.
II. COLLECTION
A. The large print collection was rotated 5/30.
B. Delivery schedule switched from Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday to Monday, Wednesday,
Friday effective 5/22.
C. The low-circulation sheets for adult non-fiction were used to verify the status of older books
in the adult 000’s-600’s.
D. Video and compact disc orders were sent.
E. The pages began the magazine mending project so that Kelly can shift the older issues
downstairs.
III. EQUIPMENT
A. No change.
IV. PROGRAMS
A. Marsha hosted two special field trips for preschoolers 5/3.
B. Five members of the Board and special guest Councilmember Bobby Williams met 5/1.
C. The Friends met 5/7 with 15 members present.
D. 5/15 marked the last scheduled classroom visits for Immaculate Conception School.
E. Bulk loans were picked up 5/24 for the end of the school year.
F. The annual Friends’ Booksale was held 5/31, with the preview scheduled for 5/30.
V. AUTOMATED CIRCULATION SYSTEM
A. No change.
VI. STAFF
A. Becky met with Al Rautio, Judy Soule, Aleksandr Chernin, Paul Grosse, and Marsha on 5/3
to plan for the changeover of the public access catalogs to the Web portal.
B. Nick Olberding, Toni Swanson, and Joe Torborg passed their page tests 5/8.
C. Becky attended the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast 5/15.
D. Lee Johnston resigned as the Library Clerk effective 4/26. The position was re-advertised
and nineteen applications were received. Interviews were held 5/30.
E. Kelly represented the Library at the Prom at Crest View on 5/18.
F. Becky and Marsha met with the pages 5/22 to negotiate summer schedule.
G. Marsha, Kelly and Becky met with the volunteens 5/23.
H. Kelly was an honored guest for lunch at Immaculate Conception School 5/24 in recognition of
people in the community who have helped students.
I. Jeanine participated in a cable shoot 5/30.
J. Summer schedules were done for the supervisors, pages, and volunteers.
VII. MISC
A. A MELSA survey was conducted 5/16.
