At home service B. : This month I selected books and arranged delivery for four homebound patrons. Bulk loans C. : Bulk loans were processed and delivered to Heights Manor and Parkview Villa on Wednesday, January 3. During February, bulk loans will not be delivered because I will be on vacation. The next delivery date is set for Wednesday, March 7. II. Collection development: I did not work on collection development this month. III. Projects and goals: Book displays A. : January is National Hobby Month, so I prepared a display of newer craft and art books. Next month I will feature our newer autobiographies, biographies, and memoirs. This will be accompanied by one of my “Hot Read” booklists done in association with the Adult Reading Program. Bulletin board B. : This month I displayed my bulletin board which promotes the Adult Reading Program, 2001, “Hot reads for cold nights”. Booklists: C. I developed three adult reading lists to be included with the adult winter reading program packets. The reading lists are: Hot reads…Autobiographies, biographies, and memoirs, Hot reads…Mysteries worth raving about (Edgar Award winners and nominees for 1995 – 2000), and Hot reads…Sleepers, novels which never made the best seller lists but nevertheless are rated 5 star ***** by the library staff. Adult reading program D. : The adult reading program, “Hot reads for cold nights” began on Monday, January 29, 2001. I made a few changes to the program this year. These changes include changing the name from club to reading program, a limit of 5 entries per library visit, 20 entries total, staff members can win a prize if the person they register wins in the weekly drawing, incentives for reading 1, 5, and 10 books are food treats instead of key chains, etc., patron’s address is needed on their registration form so I can notify them next year when the program begins, and one free entry for the weekly prize drawing just for registering. The goal this year is to register 100 adults for the winter reading program. The prizes are in the display case in the east room. Tax forms E. : The tax forms we have received were made available to the public on Monday, January 8. Again this year, Debra Patrin will be our IRS volunteer. She will be at the library to assist patrons with forms on Thursday evening and Saturday morning. Data sheet F. : I prepared the annual data sheet for the 2000 annual report. It has been given to Kelly for typing. Inventory/supply order: G. I took an inventory of our copier paper and will place an order in mid-February. I ordered office supplies and book covers. IV.
