HomeMy WebLinkAboutOperational Report from ShariTo: Becky From: Shari Date: November 27, 2000 Re: Operational Report for November 2000 Projects: 1. Online training for Word. I have spent two sessions doing on-line training. The first session, I spent most of my time down-loading the required files. The second session, I was logged out halfway through due to a computer glitch that occurred city wide. I have almost completed the Word Basic tutorial and hope to start the advanced session in December. 2. Merchant Marine files. I have copied the information that was donated to us. I have files that will be available in the vertical file and then reference copies in our reference vertical file at Becky’s desk. The folders are color-coded to go along with the other files in the vertical file. 3. File folder labels. I have completed the file folder labels for the first and second drawer of Becky’s file cabinet. I have also replaced and added some folders that were needed. 4. Discharging/putting carts in order. As per Becky’s instruction, Jeanine and I have begun discharging and putting the carts in order at 2 p.m. each day. The staff in the children’s department also discharges their materials and brings them upstairs so that we may sensitize them and place them on the carts. This is in an effort to help the pages shelved more efficiently and allow them more time for other projects in the evening. 5. Procedures manual for Supervisors and Pages. I have gone through the procedures manual for the supervisors and pages and have made the changes that I felt were needed. I also added some topics. These will be given to Becky for review and then given to Jeanine for typing and placement in the manual. 6. Page training schedule. I prepared two separate training schedules for training pages in December. Due to time constraints, the training will thth begin December 5 and end December 20. This will give the page 42 hours of training. My schedule has been adapted to this training schedule for that three-week period. 7. Monthly program counts. Marsha and I discussed setting up a file to record her monthly program counts. I have started a file in Excel that will allow her to enter her counts after each program and then I will tally them at the end of each month. This should eliminate some paperwork and provide me with an up-to-date count if needed. I have also gone back and entered the counts for this year as a test to make certain that we have all the information required. 8. Rolodex cards. I am currently working on updating and retyping the Rolodex file in Becky’s desk drawer. We have decided to add some information that was previously housed in the Ready Reference files. The cards are being printed with the laser printer so there will be a more uniform appearance to them. Misc. A. Magazine labels were typed an average of twice a week. B. Fire extinguisher maintenance and system maintenance were completed for the month. C. The ILL drawer was properly filed. D. The bill list was completed as required, even with a due date that was earlier than we were aware of. E. I helped with classes downstairs on several days. F. The clocks were set back for daylight savings time. G. The paperback order was sent and received for the month. H. Voice mail was changed for Veteran’s Day and also for the Thanksgiving holiday.
