I.BUILDING MAINTENANCE
A.The Public Works crews changed light bulbs and repaired the downstairs toilet 7/6.
B.Walt Fehst, Charlie Thompson, Gary Gorman, Kevin Hansen, and Becky met 7/11 to discuss
alternatives for covering the Library’s exterior stairwells.
C.Shari conducted a walk-through inspection with Fidelity Cleaners 7/18.
II.COLLECTION
A.Marsha met with Joe Schmitz 7/20 to look at several new lines of children’s materials he is
carrying.
B.Large book orders were placed and received in July.
C.Audio cassette, video, and cd orders were placed.
D.The mutual funds section of the adult non-fiction was weeded and replacement items were
selected.
III.EQUIPMENT
A.The new version of Quark was installed in Kelly’s computer 7/17.
IV.PROGRAMS
A.Four “My Teacher Storytime” programs were held in July:
1.7/5: Slava Bryn (8 children, 3 adults)
2.7/12: Joyce Bliss (15 children, 8 adults)
3.7/19: Gayle Hubel (8 children, 4 adults)
4.7/26: Diane Roffler (8 children, 3 adults)
B.The Board met 7/5 with 5 members present.
C.Four Funtimes were held in July:
1.7/6:Wiggly snakes(18 children, 6 adults)
2.7/13:Sheep disguises(14 children, 8 adults)
3.7/20:Caterpillars & Butterflies(16 children, 9 adults)
4.7/27: Fish(14 children, 5 adults)
D.Three Super Tuesdays were held in July:
1.7/11:Minnesota Zoomobile(236 children, 62 adults)
2.7/18:Half Pint & Oscar(124 children, 42 adults)
3.7/25:Professor Bunderschnitzel(130 children, 40 adults)
E.Becky and Barb Miller attended the City Council work session 7/17 to discuss the possibility
of forming a library foundation.
F.Jeanine participated in a cable shoot 7/24.
G.Becky met with the City Manager and Finance Director on the Library’s proposed 2001
budget on 7/24.
V.AUTOMATED CIRCULATION SYSTEM
A.Restoration of lost data due to the crash on 6/26/00 continued. Some statistics from this day
cannot be recovered.
VI.STAFF
A.Danialle Jensen completed page training and started to work on 7/17.
B.Becky met with Mark Trunzo, new Baker & Taylor representative, on 7/6.
C.Page applications were accepted between 7/10 and 7/29.
D.Three pages had performance reviews in July: Annie, Katy, and Wan.
VII.MISC
A.A MELSA survey was conducted 7/24.
