I.Programs
:
A.The Friends of the Library met on Wednesday, May 31, after the books were sorted. The
FRIENDS
Friends had a good showing at the sorting. After their meeting, the Friends had an opportunity to
purchase items. The pre-sale was attended by 33 people who purchased tickets at $5.00 each and
bought materials totaling $326.90. The book sale was open to the public on Thursday, June 1. Total
amount earned at the sale for the Friends was $1,156.60. This is the highest amount ever for the last
20 years with average being $890.93. The Friends decided not to meet in July. Their next meeting
will be a dinner meeting on Monday, August 7, at 5:30 p.m. at the Keys Restaurant in Spring Lake
Park. With the July Sampler, the Friends members will receive a letter with information about the
money made at the book sale and an announcement of the August meeting.

B. I selected library items and arranged delivery for four “At Home Patrons” this past

C. I selected and processed bulk loans for Heights Manor and Parkview Villa and delivered

them on Wednesday, June 7.
IICollection development:
:
A. I hope to start my second order for audio cassettes before the end of the

month.
B.: Additional travel brochures were received, labeled, and placed in the vertical file.

IIProjects and Goals
:
A. I displayed the summer bulletin board this month with the theme, “Aah
BULLETIN BOARD
summer...time to read”. Enclosed in the July Sampler will be an insert with a sunflower shape. On
the sunflower library patrons can recommend a “Hot summer read”. Sunflowers returned to the
library will be cut out and displayed on the library’s main bulletin board.

B. This month’s display is “M is for Minnesota”. This features books about Minnesota
BOOK DISPLAY
and by Minnesota authors. It will be accompanied by a booklist with the same title. The books were
selected and annotated by Elaine. I designed the booklist, and it will be typed by Jeanine.

C. I started the annual inventory of library and general supplies.
